Video Hi everyone! I am trying to source a lab 2.3-2.5 ct diamond. It will be used for a solitaire necklace. Most importantly I want brilliance and fire. Color needs to be pretty white to match the rest of my diamonds and eye clean. If someone could take a quick peek for me I would appreciate it! This one is selling for around $600 (which is top of my budget for this project). I would love one with hearts and arrows but maybe not possible with this budget? Thanks! IMG_7378.jpeg

I'm not an expert but this is a 60/60 which will be more have more white light return than fire. I'm sure someone can pick you a better one!

Hello, kel12345!
Agree with maryjane04 - this is a 60/60 style cut which favors white light return in indirect lighting with some sacrifice in fire in direct lighting.

Also, the cut precision isn't very tight...there is quite a bit of pavilion twist which is probably going to negatively impact the optical performance a bit, especially in the center of the diamond...depends on how picky you want to get.

Thank you so much, yes I want to get picky if it’s within my budget!

Let's try and find you some better options to pick from!
What budget cap are you wanting to stick to and what carat range?

The one linked was $600 which was top of budget, 2.3-2.5ct. I was looking on loose grown diamond website!

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing anything that's particularly well cut and proportioned with clean diamond crystal quality for the price cap.

These are a bit over budget and slightly below min desired carat weight but wanted you to see them, anyway...supply may still be trying to catch up after the year end buying rush and the beginning stages of the Valentine's Day rush is probably going to keep prices a bit higher and selection a bit lower..and it may last until around or after Mother's Day.

Thank you this is very appreciated! The 2.27ct you included, were did you find that one?

It's not listed on Loose Grown. Hope it hasn't sold already.

Shoot! That might have worked. I’ll keep looking thank you!

It's there

lovedogs - Kim N - Dreamer_D do any of your eyes see a slight blue nuance with this 2.27? I'm having a hard time deciding if it does or not.

Thank you! Let’s see what they say before I order, if anyone sees a blue nuance on that one, I also came across this one. I think proportions are better than the one I originally posted (found it for much cheaper but easier to link to Ritani). I’m not sure if it has a pavilion twist, im just too new at this.

Hard to say since CVD is hard to get a handle on in how it will behave in various lighting conditions due to the nature of the growth method creating layers of grain. You may have to take a chance and buy it as a loose diamond so that you can scrutinize it in your own daily viewing environments.
Found this CVD with a larger diameter and a bit more fiery proportions, but the price tag is getting up there above your budget cap:

Ahh okay I didn’t realize it was a bit harder with CVD diamonds. I think I could make that price work on the one you sent, but same thing regarding CVD, hard to tell if it’s not in person?

Correct - there's no way to tell without assessing in multiple different lighting conditions.

I feel like the 2.27 is reflecting a touch blue from the environment as opposed to the presence of boron in the stone. But let’s see what others say.
