Looking for info please.

This ring was found amongst my mother's jewelry when she passed. I asked everyone in my family if they knew anything about it but it's a mystery. Would anyone have any information based on the pics I have attached. Thank you in advance.

I don't think we can know for sure what a stone is based on photos but I think it's most likely synthetic since it's set in a lower gold karat (10k). An expensive stone would typically be set into a higher value setting, 14k or 18k.

Another clue, as far as value anyway, is that I'd think it would usually be unlikely for someone to have a very expensive piece without anyone in the family being aware of it.

ETA: Hopefully someone will come along with info. on the best way/place to get it tested and how much that would cost, if you're interested.

If the inside says B&F, that might be Baden and Foss, Inc.
