Hi there!

Been a fan of this forum for a very long time and you've all certainly come in handy when helping friends pick out diamonds and settings! However, I am currently stumped in my search for a particular setting! (Note: I am just doing research for friends who are getting engaged, not for myself)

I'm looking for a setting with multiple pave bands that have been criss-crossed throughout the ring.

This is the one the bride wants, but the photo has no information as to its designer:

I've found a similar one at Royal Asscher, at this link: http://www.royalasscher.com/en/collection/4/26/product/192/pa-mb-4-132.html

and the couple has found a ring at a B&M in Sacramento:

Anyone have any more suggestions? I'm not sure if I know of any designers that might have this particular setting -- I'm hoping that people may have run across one like it at some point?

I've looked at rings that have that similar multi-dimensional swirly kinda look, like the Danhov Abbraccio and its siblings from A Jaffe and Gabriel & Co. But any inspiration would be great right now. The budget currently sits at $8,000, if that helps.

Thank you all in advance!

Best,

Snuffles

I'm late to this party, but...the original setting you posted is made by Mark Silverstein. He's based in LA and his company is Mark Silverstein Imagines. That design is from his Gossamer collection. He has several similar styles, all on his website (which I think is msimagines.com).

I know because I own this very setting! I love it...his style is unique and original, and workmanship is solid, even though the setting looks delicate on the hand. I have owned the setting since 2007 and never had a problem (although I didn't wear it every day). I originally bought it for a diamond that was passed down to me (1.2 ct) and loved it. I ended up resetting that stone in '09 but kept the setting, thinking I might put a colored stone into it someday or ? (I know, it's too pretty to sit in a box but life got complicated.)

Anyway, let me know if you have other questions or want me to post a handshot or two of the setting. It's a stunner and a great way to have something unique on your finger.

ETA: I should add that Mark was easy to work with, very responsive and customer service-oriented. I ordered that setting when he did a trunk show, but I think he now works mostly from his website where you can contact the company directly. He'll also consider doing minor changes to styles, or at least he did then. My ring came on time and no hassle.
Good luck!

could you please post handshots? and also, do you wear this sort of ring with a wedding band? I've always wondered how you'd do a matching set with swirly rings like this!

Thanks so much! Sorry I hadn't checked this thread in a long time -- diamondseeker did tell me who made the setting but I'm glad to have your first hand account of owning it, too! I will pass this information along :)

Please post handshots if you have time!!! It'd be nice to get a better picture.

Thanks!!!

Here are 2 very close-up handshots of the setting (sans diamond). You can really see the pale pink melee - it's a very delicate color.
(IRL, it's not nearly as pink as in some of the website images of his work.)

My setting may be a bit wider than the one you (OP) posted above - they're all similar and all part of Mark Silverstein's Gossamer collection. I wore mine mostly as a RHR (had an old 1 ct+ stone in it); when I did wear it occasionally as an e-ring, I paired it with a shared prong dia band or another slim band.

Mark Silverstein also makes very thin white and pink dia bands that work well.

HTH!
