Loose centre stone?!

Hi all! OH proposed back at the end of October. Even at the time, the centre stone felt a little loose (if I touched it, I could feel movement).

Fast forward a couple of months, and if I move my hand around my ear, I can hear the centre stone moving (as in, it rattles, almost). OH can hear it too.

The stone isn’t visibly loose: it’s in a bezel/milgraine setting and does not look like it will pop out or anything.

Is this normal? Or should I take it back to the jeweller for adjustments?

It took absolutely ages to find the stone I wanted, so I am extra paranoid; if it was 'just' a super nice MRB I would be more ok, but damn, it was difficult to get a marquise in the exact specs I wanted!

Stop wearing it and have it looked at before you wear it.
A lose diamonds acts like a chainsaw and will quickly eat up the metal holding it in.

stop wearing it asap. Definitely get it looked at by a jeweler immediately.

That is pretty much what I thought, but I have continued wearing it because I am a moron, apparently.

Have taken it off. Will it be an easy fix? Concerned that I made a bad design. This is how it looks:

How are you surposed to know this isn't nornal when its a brand new ring ?

Hopefully your ring was made somewhere that isnt in lockdown right now so it can get back on your finger ASAP

I can't tell you how hard it will be to fix because a picture cant show all the details needed and I am not a benchman.
Hopefully its not to bad a job and your jeweler has a good benchman/Woman and it will be back on your finger real soon.

If it helps, I had a platinum bezel diamond ring that needed tightening and was a very easy fix. Took 10 minutes and cost me just £10 GBP! Signs were just as you describe, little rattle when I tapped it. It was a permanent fix. Take or send it to the original jeweller, as with marquise vulnerable tips you would want to take extra care.
