I tried to make a purchase from this company. One of the payment methods is paypal.
However, there were error messages that there is a problem with paypal and the message indicated to pay using crypto, klarna credit card, etc.
I never like to put my full credit card information out, just with all the security breaches, scams etc.
I emailed the company and they are saying that they have transaction limitations with paypal. When I checked with paypal, there were no such restrictions. I informed them of what paypal told me and the fact that paypal wrote a confirmation of this and offered to share it.
In response, I was told because they are a high end jewelry firm, that paypal will not pay them for 8 months.
I have never heard of this.
I know some of you have been able to purchase, but this feels a bit scammy. I have never encountered any issue with any high end business that accepts paypal state such a long waiting period for fund release. It would seem no business, let alone a high end business would ever deal with paypal if this were the case.
They offered to send some specialized link for payment now. So, I am just wondering, since my spidey senses are tingling, have any of you used paypal with this firm?

I just used my credit card and have had no issues. As long as it isn't my debit card, I don't really care. There is so much fraud protection through the major banks that I am not that worried.

Also used regular credit card.

No issues with credit card. Even did a return with one order and received the refund within a few days.

I used PayPal twice with them, including getting a refund for the first purchase.
PayPal can have limits on transactions in relation to some payment methods and origin of funds. Some countries also have “anti money laundering” policies in place so without knowing where you are located, that could be the issue. I do know that while they operate out of the US they are connected to India.
I have never heard of PayPal restricting payments for 8 months, I mean it’s possible but rather weird. PayPal while convenient for buyers is actually quite expensive for Vendors to use so Vendors often prefer another payment method.
As long as you get “the lock symbol” at the top in your web browser as you enter Credit card details you are safe. It means encrypted transmission. No “lock symbol” = not secure, so don’t use.

Thanks everyone for your responses.
Bron357, I am in the US and I also thought that an 8 month restriction was weird. Once I told them that Paypal verified no restrictions, then they responded with the 8 month time for funds receipt. When I received an email wherein they offered some link to pay, it made me even more dubious about the security of the transaction.

Anyway, thanks for everyone's input. I do appreciate you sharing your experiences!

FYI an emailed secured custom link to pay for a vendor initiated order is common and normal. I have received and used emailed secured custom links to pay with LGD, BG, BN/JA, and Ritani all with no issues.
