I figured this is a really long shot but who knows, maybe the owner is a PSer.

We’re moving this weekend and rented a 20 foot Uhaul. Movers opened it up and came up to me and said “this yours?” holding up a ring. It has an oval cabochon blue stone in the middle and is flanked by a pair of white rounds, all set in a white metal with a very pretty lattice basket and milgrain on the band. It seems to be about a size 5 or 5.5 on my fingers.

We are in Atlanta.

Sound like your ring? The center stone is very obvious as to its identity- if you can tell me what it is, then we can figure out how to get it back to you.

what a lovelly person you are

I had a U-Haul on that route -- about half-full of loose rings. I thought we hosed them all out but must have missed one =)2.

I needed that laugh. We finally got to the end of our move today… and my husband informed me this morning that the cleaners accidentally threw out his wedding ring which is now probably in the bottom of some dumpster on Atlanta.

Oh no! So sorry! Hopefully it was a "generic" one (like mine). I know that still does not cover the sentimental value.

If not, there are some threads on men's jewelry you can point him toward...

is the 'found' ring in a style suitably for a man ?

Alas no- it’s super girly :(

We talked about it some more and he said that rather than buying an exact replacement and pretending that it was the ring he got married with, he thought it might be fun to do an upgrade of sorts… new beginnings in our new city and all that. I suppose he’s handling it a lot better than I would- I would be beyond devastated to lose my engagement ring and the sapphire in it!
