ME ME ME!!! But I''m off to a seminar and then a going away party so I might not get back till tonight...but first, let me say that I was getting pretty irritated at all the reruns.
Having said that...
a. I could not believe that Loch was the one who hit Sayid on the head when he was trying to triangulate the french lady''s signal. I did not buy his reason either, "do you really want to lead us to a place where someone is saying that "it" killed them all?" I didn''t like that. True, no one (apparently) heard her signal, but what''s to say she set it up in that same place?
b. Poor Sayid - he has certainly had to make some tough choices
c. How funny about Sawyer''s voice calming the baby down! Too funny.
d. What the heck is in that "hatch?" and why does Loch keep lying about it? I''m still trying to figure out what he heck he saw that was so "beautiful" (when he almost got eaten by whatever monster is on the island and he said, "i looked into the eye of this island and what i saw was beautiful")....what''s his deal??!!!
e. Hurley just cracks me up.

Lost is my favorite new show....
Speaking of gossip...Kate and "Charlie, aka Pippin" are dating in real life! She''s also the chick in one of those totally dorky loveline commercials that says you should stay home and talk to other hot singles! I feel so badly because that commercial will haunt her forever!
I have to admit that I started watching the show because I love Mathew Fox from the Party of Five days! He''s such a sweetie! I think Loch just wants everyone to stay there and hunt boar forever! And, what''s with the numbers that Hurley won the lottery with and have something to do with the island? Wish they would expand on that theory a little more!
Sawyer is hot hot hot...and I laughed when he said something about chicks loving the screwed-up guys, or something to that effect! I have to admit that I''ve always had a thing for those bad boys. Always dated the guy in the band or with the Harley...and I married that same sort of tough guy, although he''s a very dedicated family man!

I'm thinking the whole point of those numbers and the peoples stories is that they are somehow MEANT to be there...it's like there was a bigger plan. The island plan.
Though doubt we'll figure most of it out, it is a series and they want it to run for more than one year right? So it'll be like year 5 before we figure out anything I'm sure.
Locke does not want to leave the island and I was not surprised to hear he hit Sayid....the island gave him back the use of his legs so why would he want to leave? He is convinced that his place is there and somehow he's part of the big plan. I can't figure him out...sometimes he is menacing and others just lost.
In terms of the hatch, Greg thinks that the 'monster' that 'killed them all' (words from the french woman) is trapped in there and that is why in the next episode they show the little boy saying to not open it.
One thing that irks me is that they made a big deal of that 'thing' that pulled down all the trees as they watched from the beach, and pulled the pilot out of the plate and killed him in the first and second episode, alluding to a big monster, but since then we have NEVER seen any evidence of it again and everyone just wanders around like it's safe. So what happened to the big island-monster everyone was afraid of? It's entirely gone! One of my pet peeves is bad writing for storylines and it's like they started with this monster tree/killing thing and then totally veered away to this other island mystery thing and dropped the monster.

The numbers definitely intrigue me since they brought the french woman's research team to the island, someone in an insane asylum kept repeating them over and over, hurley played them and won the lottery, and they are on this hatch thing Loch found. I'm hoping they say at least SOMETHING more about them before this season ends.
My current theory/guess (which has pretty much been the same since the show began) is that it's some kind of government experiment or something. Typical conspiracy theory. I'm not big on the theory that they're all dead and this is purgatory or something. If that were the case, then no one would be able to die, right? But Boone died on the island. So this is not my favorite theory. And why the heck are there polar bears on the island???
I thought it was very interesting that Boone died as Claire's baby was being born. Sort of a net-gain-in-people-equals-zero sort of thing, or maybe the baby needed a soul or something? It sounds wacked but that baby is supposed to be something on the order of supreme evil if not raised by Claire.

Maybe that's why the monster thing kinda went away? I also heard that the monster is a personification of their fears...but it killed the pilot so....???? And aren't the black rock people going to find out Ethan's dead and come after them?? So many questions...!!

Mara, I think Greg may be on to something with the "monster" being in the hatch. Weston and I keep referring to it as Pandora''s Box . . . so who actually knows what''s in side, but it''s going to be a whoooooole lot of trouble.
I''m also a bit confused about the disappearance of Stomper, and where did the polar bears go? They were chasing them all over the place 3 episodes ago, and now, they''re not.

I read the article in EW. It was very good, and yes, they did swear that the characters were not all dead already or in purgatory. It also seems Boone was very pissed off that his character got killed. Apparently the actors don''t know what''s going to happen either...so it came as a shock to him that his character was getting axed.
Regarding Kate and Charlie dating - I did read that...and all I keep thinking is...."He''s a hobbit. It''s just wrong."

My husband and I are both addicted to Lost. It''s one of the few shows that we watch together. The rest of the time I watch the food network, and he watches ESPN. We didn''t catch the last episode, I''m sure he''ll download it from the net once someone posts it.
I have no theories though, but like the rest of you, I''m frustrated by the re-runs, and original ''monster'' plot being unexplained.

oooh my bf and i both LOVE Lost!! it''s the only show that i really watch (reality tv is sooo not my thing). but i am definitely excited for tonight. i may have to check out that website you posted tanuki. i only started watching about halfway through the first season so i am clueless about the beginning (which is probably why the lack of the monster doesn''t bother me so much hehe)
My bf and I love it too!!! We''re a little behind on taped shows we haven''t caught up yet--I mean, we couldnt'' help finding out about Boone, but we haven''t watched that yet--so we''re torn whether to keep taping and waiting or just watch tonight and catch up later.

yeah i thought that it was odd when the whole polar bear thing was tied to michael''s kid seeing comics and then there was a polar bear...it made me wonder if somehow he was related to the plane going down?
anyway i wanted to say that i LOVE LOVE LOVE television without pity. it is by far the best site for TV shows in terms of recaps and the humor and attitude of the writers is just hilarious. i even love the names they give characters...hee!

I completely forgot that Michael''s kid has telekinetic powers (or the likes thereof)...it''s been so long since that episode aired (and thus reignites my bickering about how irritating the weeks and weeks of repeats have been!)...good point. And that kid also burned down the first boat they were building. And now he''s apparently going to tell Loche not to open the hatch...hmmm...that kid is no good!

Loche apparently knew the boy did it, and said as much to the kid during an episode. He told the kid not to worry, that he wouldn't tell on him, and the kid admitted he didn't want to leave the island.

It''s interesting what the island has meant to different characters--for both Locke and the kid, it''s the best time of their lives and they don''t want to leave, so I''ll be interested to see them at odds.
