Any good book suggestions?

I'm going to the bookstore after I study and I really want a good book to read about it.

Thank you guys

Key to working with dreams is journaling them. Get a spiral notebook and work on writing down your dreams every morning right after you wake up. That, in addition to researching via books, will help.

Will do, thank you!

Yeah, you can also look into out-of-body-experiences and incorporate lucid dreaming into your work with the latter. They might work hand-in-hand for you. They do for me.

I am very intrigued!

I've never actually bought a book on how to lucid dream, I've just read a lot online and through youtube. I also keep a dream journal in my nightstand, it's interesting to look back at what you dream of and how it actually relates in your life. I tend to have dreams about things that are about to happen, but they come in weird ways that don't make sense until afterward ... and some things make no sense at all but as they play out in my waking life I just feel re-assured that I'm in the right place. It sounds to me that it will come easily for you, since your dreams seem so real and you think you may have some psychic ability (same here!). But check out that lapis lazuli (and google it with words like lucid and psychic, it's crazy what you'll discover about this stone) I mentioned earlier, it's crazy how it make my dreams seem much more real, and it actually helps me remember so I can record them in my journal. I also find when I sleep with my lapis ring I'll have multiple dreams and be able to remember all of them.

I picked up my ring at a booth in the mall, they sell all kinds of semi-precious stones. My ring was $60 and it's set in a thick silver band. It's not bling-y at all but adds a nice pop of colour (Blue/Gold) to whatever I'm wearing.

The book I use is Out-of-Body Adventures by Rick Stack. It's easy to read and work with. Have kept it on hand for many years now.

http://www.amazon.com/Out---Body-Adventures-Rick-Stack/dp/0809245604/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287789237&sr=8-1

I'd say it's the ultimate & perfect novice guide.

Thanks, I think I'll check this book out as well! I think we should all try to have a PS group dream sometime, we'll meet and play around with 20 carat diamonds ... it is a dream right! LOL

I am going to start doing this. I feel like this will be quite theraputic.

When I brought this topic up a couple months ago I should have posted a link to the book I'd read - mind you over 20 years ago...

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Dreaming-Patricia-Garfield-Ph-D/dp/0345331443

but it looks like she has a new/revised version perhaps?

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Dreaming-Creativity-Overcome-Problems/dp/0684801728

And at the bottom it has some sort of threesome thing - you know, people who bought this book also bought...

Creative Dreaming: Plan And Control Your Dreams to Develop Creativity, Overcome Fears, Solve Problems, and Create a Better Self by Patricia Garfield Paperback $16.20

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge PHD Mass Market Paperback $7.99

Lucid Dreams in 30 Days, Second Edition: The Creative Sleep Program by Keith Harary Ph.D. Paperback $8.76

I have a question for those of you who do lucid dreaming.

I am often aware of my dreams while I'm in them and can make them go where I want. I can't fly or anything really big, but I can instantly change location, change a character, etc. Sometimes, when I'm just dozing off, I'll wake startled and it'll feel like "something" is coming back into me--usually in the back of the head. What's that all about?? Is this the beginning of OOBE??

I regret in advance that this post may be offensive - but please let me get his off my chest.

Lucid dreaming pi$$es me off. I really get annoyed when I hear that folks can tell themselves they are dreaming and better yet that they can alter the course of the dream. I have horrific nightmares, all the time. I have never seen a horror movie worse than my dreams - that kind of horrific. And believe me if I could stop them or change them I would but I can't. It makes me so cranky to hear people saying, oh I just tell myself it is a dream, or to wake up! HA! in fact double HA!

Thank you for listening - I had to post that.

Steal - Perhaps if you were to practice some conscious meditation then you could reach a state of being able to tell yourself? I'm sorry you have terrible nightmares. :(sad

Steal - I totally get what you're saying. I *can* do that trick, but not every time, and most especially not in my most upsetting dreams. Curiously, it's a lot easier to lucid dream when you're only half-asleep - it's like switching your mind over from fantasizing/visualization into a dream-state. When I'm having a hard-core nightmare, I'm too wrapped up in the reality of the dream to stand a chance. And I *hate* those dreams - most often what wakes me from nightmares is the thrashing (which in the dreams, translates to a feeling of physical ineffectualness). The mind is a weird thing.
