Does anyone own the Azur Saleya handbag?

Can you tell me if it`s practical and in general if you`re happy with it or would you recommend one of the other LV designs for my first LV?

HI:

It is on my wish list for Spring. Very popular around here already.....seems like a good sized bag without being "too" large.

cheers--Sharon

Hi canuk-gal! Thanks for your reply. Here in Australia, I actually haven''t seen anyone wearing the Saleya yet, so I guess it`s just taking off.

My DH and I went to the LV store last week and found that the medium size (MM) is probably the best, although I was not impressed that there was no zipped pocket inside (or outside as far as I remember).

But I really like that the azur design is subtle and doesn''t scream "LV".

HI:

I hear ya. That is why I buy LV in the Epi leather--people love the shape/color of the bags without knowing who makes them.......

And you are right about the no-zipper, they are all open slots.....and I was surprised that my latest LV didn''t even have a cell phone holder either.....

But they are cute!

cheers--Sharon

I don''t post much... but I thought I''d comment that I have the regular Damier Saleya PM. I love it. I guess I am used to throwing things into tote bags, so the lack of zippered pockets/organization does not bother me. I see them only occasionally where I live, which is also nice. The only other LV I have is in Epi and I like the Damier because it is more subtle too.

Hi girls,

Sharon - I wonder if they keep the pockets to the minimum to increase the sales of their little pouches and toiletry bags? They`re quite cute too :-)

Blue824 - thanks for replying! Good to hear you love the Saleya bag. I don''t mind the open space of a bag myself, but I like to have a little zipped pocket just to throw in few panadols. Does your PM fit onto your shoulder or do you have to carry it in your hand? If you have a few pics of the bag on you, please share:-)

I too have the daimer saleya. It fits perfectly under the arm or carried on the arm. I like open bags and use pouches inside - makes it easier to switch bags! It has a pocket for your cell and a larger one for keys etc. Fits in everythig I need and more - even my cannon slr camera if need be! Essentially a great bag.

My only issue is the gold plating comes off with use - especially on the zipper pull. I don''t abuse my bags but neither do I baby them. The old brass hardware LV had was much hardier.

Happy shopping!

Hi elle! Thanks for your reply. Great to hear you`re happy with your bag. How long have you had it that the gold plating is coming off already?

About 4-6 months when it started? I've had it for more than a year, maybe almost 2? Not sure when I got it. It was disappointing - the LV manager actually told me that it happens! I do like that the dark leather trim hides alot of sins, vs the light Azur range. As I said I don't baby my bags, just my real baby! Hth!

It fits onto my shoulder, provided I am not wearing a heavy winter coat. In the winter, I generally have to use it as a handbag instead.

I had the same problem as elle with the gold coming off of the zipper pull! Glad it isn''t just me! I have had it since October 2006, and I want to say I noticed it at the beginning of last year... so 3-4 most after I got it. That is the only disappointing thing about it.
