This one is a rare beauty and a reluctant sale. This would have been a “one off” and back in the day such an expensive watch would likely have been gifted for a momentous life event, a 21st Birthday or Marriage. The watch face suggests Art Deco but a “revisit“ to this style in the 1950s could indicate that age also.
This is a manual wind watch which weighs a hefty 51.7 grams and without movement /glass around 48 grams. Current melt value around $1,600. not that this should EVER be melted down! It is In good working order, however manual wind watches do not keep Quartz accuracy.
Solid 14kt gold and hallmarked accordingly. It is a beautifully and skillfully domed shape bangle watch with a hinge that opens / closes to place on wrist. Best suited to a wrist under 7 1/2 inches.
Like a Starry night sky, both sides are set with 11 natural (under magnification colour zoning is present) blue sapphires.
