I''ve never worn makeup...ever, and I''m wondering how on earth I''ll deal with that on my wedding day. When I was in middle school I bought eye shadow, eye liner, and lip stick, but other than trying it on for fun, I never got the hang of wearing makeup. I HATE the feel of anything on my face, and my eyes are super sensitive to eye shadow, etc. I also hate having anything on my lips, even lip gloss. I want to be comfortable on my wedding day and I relly want to be photo-ready, not ho-hum. Does anyone have any ideas?

As for my hair, I have fine, short dark brown hair, with bangs. It''s currently sort of layered and it''s usually cut into a bob, just below my ears or a little longer, but always above my shoulders. I never put mousse, hairspray etc. in my hair. I feel the same way about hair products as I do makeup. I hate to admit it, but my hair style hasn''t changed much in years...many years. I''m not sure what to do with it.

If someone can recommend what to do or styles to try, I''d really appreciate it.

I am not a make up person either. I wear it, but not a lot of it (and I certainly don''t know what to do with it as far as photos go). So, for my wedding, I am having it done professionally. The salon that is doing my hair is also doing my make up. I am like you. I don''t like to feel make up on my skin (plus a lot of things irritate my face), but the make up my salon uses is wonderful! In fact, I liked it so well that I bought some while I was there. Check with some salons in your area. They may have something just as natural that provides the right amount of coverage.

I normally use Bare Minerals, which is a VERY natural feeling make up. I put it on and feel the same as I did before I had it on. You might like trying it. I will find out the name of it as well. If you have a Bare Minerals carrier in your area, you might want to go and have a consultation and see if you like how it feels. I WANTED to have a consultant come do my make up on my wedding day, but the closest store is 2 hours away, and they don''t travel that far. Luckily I like the new stuff just as well (I will try to remember the name)

I don''t know about the hairstyles, but I would try a few makeup things:

1. Try tinted moisturizer instead of foundation, it will feel better on your skin and still give you oomph. Also, unfortunately expensive foundations are worth it. If you go cheap, it will feel cakey all day. Try a few out in department stores BEFORE buying to see what you like.

2. Use a cream blush. It''s easy to blend and looks much more "real" to me than the cake blush. Also won''t feel cakey.

3. Mascara and a lash curler are your friends. learn to use them and love them before your wedding day. Your eyes in pictures will thank you.

4. For lips, I LOVE Smith''s Rosebud Salve. You can buy it online and at Sephora. It will give you a teensy amount of tint and shine, but doesn''t feel icky. Just feels like having a nice coating of good chapstick. Works wonders.

5. Learn how to use a good concealor to cover red spots and undereye circles. Again, go to a department store on multiple days, have them put it on you, and keep trying one until you find one that you like.

I wouldn''t go all out on the makeup if you don''t usually wear any. You want to be comfortable on your big day!

Honestly I would get your makeup professionally done. You need to have a slightly heavy hand so that it actually shows up in photographs. I thought mine was very natural looking (my wedding thread is floating around here somewhere). Go for a trial so you aren''t too shocked the day of.

For your hair I am not sure. Maybe look at some styles online. Maybe some pretty clips to dress your hair up.

I''ve got to agree with the other posters that say get the makeup professionally done. And the hair!

Here the thing...these pics are going to be with you forever. You want to look your best in them...and why not leave it to the professionals.

I''d find a great salon in your city, tell them what you want - light, natural looking make-up and let them fool around with your hair.

My guess is you''ll be really happy with what they do.

If you like it, book them for your wedding...I definitely think you should do a trial run before hand...that way, your makeup person can listen to your feedback, and have things JUST the way you want them for the wedding.

Just my two cents!

Great ideas ladies. Thanks! I think I''ll find a salon in the area where I''m getting married and do a trial run. I agree, I think it''s probably best to leave this to the professionals.
