I had my makeup trial yesterday, and am a bit unsure on the colours on my eyes. I wanted to stay with pinks and golds, but am worried the pinks are too dark. I do, however, love how she made my eyelashes look like they instantly multiplied ( I couldn''t belive they are mine!!) Any opinions or suggestions? Do the colours work OK with my complexion? My flowers are 3 different shades of pink roses and my dress is antique gold. TIA!

Honestly? You're a gorgeous woman, bu this make-up makes you look a little pale and a bit washed out. Pink make-up may not suit you. And I don't know that your make-up necessarily has to be the SAME colour as your flowers, so maybe, just for an experiment, try asking a make-up artist to do you up without telling her which colours to use. Just say 'my dress is gold my flowers are pink... now make me look gorgeous!'

To experiment without having to pay again, I'm a huge fan of Bobbi Brown for a natural look. I went for a wedding make-up lesson with them at Bloomingdales and of the 8 or so women having their faces done, every last one of them looked spectacularly more gorgeous coming out, but not overly 'made up'. You can get a make-over there for free (they probably semi-expect you to buy a product or two, though the lady carefully said 'no pressure!')

ETA: maybe its the lip colour I'm not getting into... ? It could be more flattering, I suspect.

I like the eyes but I don''t like the lipstick color with the eyes or with your skin.

When they tell you to wear more makeup than you are comfortable with for the pictures, listen. I hated my eye makeup in person but it looks good in the pictures.

What Summer said, re wearing more than you normally would. I don''t think the eyes are too HEAVY at all, just maybe the colours aren''t quite right, especially the lipstick.

I agree with the others, pink may not be the right choice for you. Instead of looking like a glowing bride, I feel as the pink is making you look washed out. Perhaps you should try a palette with more earth tones? I agree with Indy, Bobbi Brown has fabulous products, and the result tends to be a more polished you.

I think a gold might have been better, although it is hard to tell with your eyes closed. I didn''t think dark pink-purple would look ok on me, but it made my eyes look so green.
Fo me, I don''t like how the blush was put on, the color was good but the positioning made you looked washed out rather than glowing.
I wouls suggest Sefora. They also do free make-up trials, but what makes them the best in my opinion is that they use all different brands becuase they are not tied to one. I really loved their work and perhaps you could try both and see what works best for you.

I think the make-up is too pink. the eyeshadow and lipstick combo are not so great. i do LOVE the eyelashes though

maybe you should wear a shirt similar to the color of your dress the next time you go to give you a better idea of how the colors will all look together. you might want to have your make-up done in colors you normally wear...just kicked up a bit and try not to worry about matching the colors of the flowers.

I''d prefer a gold, brown combo on the eyes.

I have skin and hair that are quite similar to yours and find the golds and browns - when properly applied - tend to look more natural but give a good look for pictures.

Lipstick colour is always so difficult - maybe try a load and take photos to see what works best.

Thankyou all for your honest replies! I have to say I don''t love the lippie colour, but I was really unsure on the eye colours. The makeup chickie put about 5 colours on my eyes, starting with golds and browns and working up to pinks. On the day she said she''d go one colour and one layer at a time and get me to check at every stage, so I may omit most of the pink.

I like your eyes (you won''t have your eyes closed all days) but agree on the lip colors. I think keeping a little pink would be nice considering your flowers are pink.

Your lashes look phenomenal! How''d she get them to do that???

I also don''t care for the lip color...your lips should "POP" and they just kind of say "meh" right now.

Do you have any pictures with your eyes open?
