Hi!

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a mantilla without breaking a leg?. I wouldn''t mind buying it used, but can''t find any that I liked (maybe I just don''t know where to look!). I found some on ebay but I don''t know if the material of the fabric is good quality from the pictures.

I''m attaching a pic of one I liked at the store. I like it but it was expensive and I would want it with less veil (so it''s more see through) And what is that lenght called??

I was also wondering if I could do this myself?...maybe that''s too adventorous!

I would like to spend $150 tops.

TIA!!!

M~

Sewing some lace by hand on an oval veil doesn''t seem too difficult... Otherwise, pretty much every veil I''ve seen online is over your budget. I wish I could help!

I got my veil from obridal - http://www.obridal.com . I see on their website they are closed until december 6th, so not sure when you need your veil by...but it''s worth emailing them to see what the price would be for a veil like you have on above. That looks like alencon lace, and their website says to email them if you have a specific lace request. They also have a gallery with all sorts of veils so you can determine length, style, etc.
My veil was about $45 and perfection!

Thank you both!!

wow that''s a great price!!!
There are so many options on that site!! I don''t need it until February so that may work.

Thanks again :) If anyone has any other suggestions let me know :)))

You know me, the ebay queen!

There are several listed on there...just type in Mantilla and several came up!

Hope that helps!

My mother just made a mantilla veil for my cousin''s wedding in December. I helped her measure out some fine tulle netting in a "rounded off kite" shape, and then she sewed some very pretty lace from a sewing shop onto the cut edges and added a comb at the top. It looks beautiful, was much less $ than David''s wanted to charge my cousin (more like $50 instead of $200), and seemed fairly easy to make. If you made one or had one made for you, you could even customize your veil by finding a lace to match your dress, Mandarine.

Have you tried the UK ebay?

They come up quite often there - especially in the antiques section. I bought my 1880''s lace veil there and it was in perfect condition.
