Good Morning Ladies!

I was wondering what the best way to get a mass quantity of maps/brochures for welcome bags would be? Is it better to go to the county''s tourist center or is there a way to oder them online?

Also, what websites to everyone use to create their bags? Any suggestions for a good place to buy the bags and labels??

Thanks!!

You will be able get all of the maps/brochures that you need from your local Chamber of Commerce. I imagine some big cities might offer them online. More than likely though, you will need to call and tell them how many you need and the date that you need to pick them up. Sometimes there is a nominal fee, depending on how many you need. Calling in advance is important though becuase if you need more than 10 or so (which I''m sure you do) they might not have them available at the front desk if you just walk in with no advance notice.

I bought generic gift bags and included welcome letters, but know several others have ordered labels.

yes, call in advance. i got ours through our town''s tourist center.

I bought bags on papermart.com

I made my own "brochures" that included itinerary info, rests. and museums that were walking distance from our hotel blocks etc. I used a template that I found on my local knot board and printed it out at my office. I then just punched a hole in the top corner of them and tied them w/ a ribbon to the bags- it had our names and the date on the front so it served as a label as well...

I figured that if people wanted official info / maps they could just pick it up in the hotels.

I got our brochures from the county tourist center...
I recommend calling as early as possible. My mom started calling three months before the wedding.. and the lady kept saying "oh I put it in the mail" or "oh, I had my secretary do it.." or "oh, gosh, i was out sick that day" ....

we finally received the brochures 2 weeks before the wedding!

I also ordered canvas beach bags from www.thegartermaker.net I bought these for my bridesmaids. For out of town gift baskets, we did brightly colored plastic beach pails... it was quite a hit, and they were only $1 a piece.

She was great to work with, but not incredibly cheap if you are doing A LOT of bags.

Hope that helps
