Hello! First time poster here and I was hoping I could get a second opinion on a diamond my jeweler showed me today. The diamond is a Marquise 1.35ct G/VVS1, 1.78mm x 5.76mm, $9200. I saw the stone today and loved it, but I'm still waiting to hear back from him in order to get a GIA report for the stone and I'll post that here when I do. Based on other diamonds he's shown me, and from what I've found online, the price seems great but I wanted a second opinion on that. I'm from Virginia but frequently visit family in New York City so I would have the option to visit the diamond district in the coming weeks, but if this diamond is a good deal I may just buy this one since marquise have been very hard to find recently and I wouldn't want to miss out on a good deal. Thanks in advance!

You can easily use the Pricescope search tool at the top of the page t compare prices. Personally I would not be bothered with a high clarity - most SI1's will be very hard to see and if they are not clouds etc then you might jump up to 1.5ct.
As to everything else - even a grading report may not be much use to experts here.

I couldnt find too many comps for the stone but $9200 does seem like a good price if it does indeed have a GIA report.

You need to look at the stone in different lighting conditions and make sure that it is returning light nicely.
Does the vendor have a return policy so if you get it home and its not as expected? Something to consider.

I’ve attached report. I did see the stone in person and was able to see it under different lighting outside the store and did love how it looked. I was mostly concerned with ensuring I was getting a good value on the stone but ran into a similar issue of not finding too many comparable stones elsewhere, but even what I did find led me believe this was a good price.
