Hello Everyone!!
What a whirlwind! I must admit I have been back from our wedding and honeymoon for a few weeks now, but it has seriously taken me this long just get back in the "normal" swing of things...whatever that is!
Wedding was on a gorgeous, sunny May 10, 2010 in Puerto Vallarta. A bunch of us stayed at two adjoining private beach villas and it was just perfect! It really made for a great trip.
My girls and I started the day at the villa with a yoga session by the pool, overlooking the ocean - amazing! Then, we had manis/pedis at the villa while we sat around and talked, had breakfast, etc. It was so nice and really set the tone for the day...I felt relaxed and not rushed at all! I left the villa to have my hair done by my sis who was staying in a gloriously air-conditioned condo - this really helped with the humidity...we weren't sure what my hair was gonna do! Then we met back up with the other bridesmaids at the chapel/hotel where they had a room for us to do touch-ups, etc. Unfortunate thing was...they had not turned the air-con on but 5-10mins before we arrived...so the room was HOT...and my previously air-conditioned self started sweating that never stopped - which I knew had to happen at some point in the PV weather.
We did pics before the ceremony, and I'm sooooo glad we did - thanks for all your advice on this one! It was a special time for both of us and I think made us less nervous for the ceremony. Plus, I was so happy to get pics out of the way so I could be with my guests and NOT miss the parade (pics below!!).
Ceremony was amazing...it felt so special and meaningful. We both teared up several times, but just looked at each other and got through together.
We paraded about 3 blocks through cobblestone streets to the reception...many of my guests said this was their favorite part!
The reception was just a dream come true...the decor, food, ambiance!!! It was quite warm and all the dancing was making for a sweaty bunch, so a bunch of people jumped in the pool towards the end of the night. It was hilarious!!! You can't plan this stuff!!!
To start you off...here's a blog from my coordinator with some decor/design pics.
