my SO and I have talked a good deal about when to get engaged/married. last year, we thought we might get married this summer but he quit his job and went back to school and so, we came to the conclusion that we should wait until he finished (spring of 09). so...it was my understanding that we wouldn''t be engaged until at least the end of next year, if not 2010. so I swallowed hard and was okay with that. but recently, his behavior has been changing.
just a few months ago, he''d shy away from talking about rings and diamonds. i''ve given him a basic crash course on diamonds (the 4 c''s, the importance of cut, etc...) and what my preference would be. i never really went into much depth and we haven''t really talked about it much. but just the other day, in passing we were talking about diamonds and almost jokingly he mentioned things like table, crown, pavilion...etc. i stopped dead in my tracks but didn''t say anything but, we''ve talked about diamonds but i''ve never mentioned to him anything that in depth! ALSO, we have a few ladies at my church who are married/engaged, so whenever he''s around them or talking to them he''ll take their hand and start inspecting their ring. (he tries to find the arrows in the RBs. i find it so cute.) to top it off, i know he''s getting a nice big chunk of change back for his taxes that he says that he''s gonna put into savings. he also mentioned how he''s going to be getting his security deposit back for his apartment when he moves back to his parents place for a year (while he finishes school)...and all this other money he''s going to be putting into savings.
so, could it be? maybe engagement isn''t so far off? i was so fine with the fact that i wouldn''t be getting engaged/married for another 2 years or something, but now i''m all curious and anxious!
getting engaged at all, whenever it may be, would be super exciting as it is, but i''d be soooooooo excited if i got engaged by the end of this year! how awesome would that be?!?!
i just wanted to share these random occurances with you ladies. i''m hoping and wishing that my assumptions are right...
