Hi Everyone,

Has anyone own or tried MBT shoes? I tried on a pair and thought they were really comfortable. They are expensive, but if they work, I''m thinking about trying them.

They are supposed to tone your muscles as you walk.

these look super comfy. if they are as good as they sound i might try some. thanks!

Dang....My choice was $259 clams. How comfy are they?

They were kinda weird feeling at first because of the footbed that rocks back and forth.

But overall, they were very comfy!

I''ve just about worn out my first pair of MBTs and am going to buy another pair next week. They work. Toned everything from my butt down to my toes. Pay attention to the CD instructions that come with them. You really do have to work your way up into wearing them for long periods of time. I wore mine on every trip to Europe (where we walk 8-10 hours a day) and they''re the only shoe that I can wear for extended periods on hard surfaces that don''t cause pain in my feet. I have bad bones in my feet and the cushion these provide is awesome. The only drawback is that they''re ugly.

Thanks for the info Matata!

I''m not crazy about the look. Generally, as a teacher, I dress up for school. I''m not the type to wear athletic looking shoes to work. If they work on toning my muscles, I''m all for that!

I agree...if you get the benefits of squats or lounges by simply walking...which because I am not royalty yet~I still have to the walking myself...I might as well slap those puppies on and firm up! Is it really that simple? And that noticeable of a difference?

I have both the sandals and the tennis shoes and I love them except that they are pretty darn ugly. They have made a difference in the toning of my legs, my calves in particular. I thought so myself, but then two of my sisters noticed also. I agree with watching the video because if you walk on them wrong, they will do more harm then good.

LOL, I totally agree! I don''t own any MBT''s, but I tried the "Boost" model on yesterday and walked around the mall for about 20 minutes in them (I can''t believe they let me do that!). The thing I noticed about them is that they take the stress off the hip and knee joints and coaxed me into better posture. I''m all about the funky footwear, and I thought Keen''s were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen but have since grown to love them and the comfort they offer. But $250 for ugly shoes? I''m not biting yet. DH really liked the way they felt too, but they looked way better on him.

How long was it before you noticed results?

Love in Bloom...I agree that they look better on men. They are sooo comfy and have good arch support, I''m VERY tempted in trying them out.

Depends on how often you wear them. When I''m on a trip and wear them for 8-10 hours of walking/standing each day for 10 days, the results are evident within 5 days. I do a lot of workouts -- squats, lunges, calf raises, etc. but don''t get as much lean muscle definition from weights as I do when I wear the shoes consistently.

These MBT boots were worn on the "Let The Angels Commit" episode of Grey''s Anatomy.

I think you should try them! I''ll bet the long term benefits/arch support/comfort outweigh the goofy look. I really want to get a pair for my fiance since he likes them and is on his feet all day. I''m glad you posted on these shoes to get some opinions! Those boots on Grey''s don''t look too bad...kind of like moon boots

Thanks for the info, Mata!!

The info at Bliss indicates "ordering a half-size larger than your regular shoe size". Has anybody else noticed if the sizes run small?

I'm about ready to purchase these pink ones:

Hey Marvel, the Bliss Spa cataloge is where I first saw MBT's advertised! The ones I tried on ran true to size. They are wide though.

LIB, I went for it and purchased the pink ones. Which ones did you try on?

I tried on the Boost in blue. They were so comfy. They made my pants look waaaay too short, and I felt really tall in them

Oooh, I like the pink, I don''t think those are ugly at all!

I tried some on in a boutique in Ashland, OR & they had the DVD going & sent me home with brochures. Since I''m coming off a pregnancy, my lower half needs all the help it can get. I have my jeans hemmed too long as it it so I can wear them with heels as well, so I bet they''d hide *most* of this shoe. As a stay at home mom, I wear running shoes most days with my jeans unless I''m going somewhere.

hee hee those look funny. i wonder what they feel like...

i have been doing a lot of hiking which is toning me something crazy, but i bet i can''t wear these while hiking, probably not enough traction? i''d probably fall over too, i''m so clumsy with new things.

Hey Jelly and Marvel, did you get your MBTs yet????

These look interesting!

Does anyone know if they come in different widths, and also if you can replace the inner sole with an orthotic?

Hi LIB, I just came back from wine tasting in Santa Barbara over the weekend, and they were here waiting for me. I haven''t even tried them on yet. The soles are pretty thick, but that''s okay because I''m short and can use the height. I''ll keep you posted as the week goes on.

Jelly, Did you get a pair?

please keep us posted...i was reading some articles on them and they kind of were along the lines of what i was thinking which is typically that people who want to wear shoes like this are already doing things that would get them into better shape, so how much of ''results'' that people see are the actual SHOES vs incremental results from multiple positives. anyway, i''m curious to know what you gals think after trying them for a while!! greg suggested i just get a pair to try for street walking so i am tempted hehee.

Yes, keep us posted...I''m very curious as to how well you like these and what kind of results you see.

LMAO! then again if I could wear birkies while pregnant the first time round then who am I to say anything
