Medical School

Just wanted to up-date, since I asked for dust many months back:

I got into medical school!!! Tufts University School of Medicine!! I am beyond elated to become a doctor.


Are there any other doctors out there? Anyone who was in a relationship during medical school with advice?

I briefly considered medical school, but then I remembered that I hate blood and gore - I would never get through it! I decided to go for the business side of the healthcare industry instead.

My SO is in Medical School (just started his third year). (For myself, I think you med school kids are a little nuts)

As long as both people in the relationship realize how much work it's going to be sometimes (and the fact that its not just 4 years, but at least 7 of crazy schedules), and that you won't get to see each other all the time it'll be ok. For example, my boyfriend just spent a MONTH locked in his room studying for the board exams. It was tough, but I just hung out with long suffering friends who I don't see very often.

congrats!!! I posted in your other thread...I applied (and got accepted) to medical school but decided it wasn't for me. I know you can make it work, my BF's brother and his now wife were in a LONG DISTANCE relationship for 4 years while she was in med school!!! (I don't know how they did it, but they just celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary!) I think you just have to prioritize your relationship and make time for it even though you will be super busy. Congrats again!

I didn't go to med school, but my husband did. That was the easy part.
It's the residency and fellowship that are the true test.
But we made it. Don't worry, you'll do great.
