Men's wedding band: comfort fit vs. traditional fit

Hi friends,

I'm new here, nice to meet everyone. I'm preparing to buy a wedding band for myself. I've decided on a simple platinum band, either 4mm or 5mm, classic dome. The majority of inventory and advice-trends seem to be in favor of a comfort fit. I, however, really prefer the aesthetics of how the traditional fit sits flatter on the finger.

My occupation is purely via a laptop (i.e., no manual labor), and I'd take the ring off for working out, golf, etc. I haven't figured out my exact ring size yet, but with the general online guidance tools, I'm coming in around 10.5 +/- 0.5

My question is: At 4-5mm, will I regret going with a traditional fit? Is the comfort-fit difference that much more noticeable?

Women's bands also come in the 2 fits. I prefer comfort fit as it's a bit more rounded vs. flat edges. I don't think it's that noticeable aesthetically. You could always try them on and/or buy both and return one.

Truthfully, there is no discomfort with a flat inside band profile. It is only in the first few days of wear that a comfort fit makes much difference to most wearers. Once you get used to the ring on your finger, you'll hardly every notice it at all regardless of the inner shape. A 4 to 6 mm wide band is not generally that wide. Even at 10mm, a comfort fit feels great initially, but later on, it won't make a whole lot of difference. They do feel silky smooth when you slide a comfort fit on and off, but while wearing one, it is not much different an experience.

Some folks are more sensitive than others. Unless the fit is overly tight, or simply too loose, I'd think there are few people who notice the ring is uncomfortable or annoying beyond the first few days.
