I have a Mimi necklace that I bought several years ago but have only worn very few times. I'm the first and only owner and I believe that it is in excellent condition. I would like to know if anyone is interested.
Mimi is an Italian brand by Giovanna Broggian. The necklace is in 18K white gold, fresh water pearls and diamonds on both sides of the logo. It is very long and can be worn in multiple layers.
I'm attaching pictures I found on the internet to give you an idea. Mine has white pearls. I will post pictures of my necklace if there's an interest.
Are we allowed to mention price here?

This is very pretty. Please post some pictures from your necklace!

I was hoping you did not change your mind. I might be interested and would love to see some photos.

Sorry for taking too long....
I can try to take better/ more pictures if there's interest.

Very pretty. Ans yes, some more photos or neck shots would be great. Do you have a price point?

@Marriedbuteloped I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable posting my pictures online plus it will look different on each person. I don't mind adding more pictures of the necklace though.
I'm still not sure it is allowed to discuss price here. Hopefully, they will let us know if it is not allowed. Let me know what you would like to offer.

Understand about the personal photos. I would love to make you a privat offer but would need a link to a listing or just your contact (on loupetroop for instance) as pricescope does not have a dm option.

I don't have a loupetroup account. Is it easy to create one? Is there any other option?
I'm expecting a 4 digit offer so if you're still interested, we can continue to discuss options.
Please let me know.

nkc--it's a very pretty and special necklace.
You can mention price here and post a link to LT or DB or eBay or wherever you want to list it.
LoupeTroop is easy to set up and free. Do you have PayPal or Venmo or some other payment method?

Some things that will help you sell:
-detailed description regarding length, pearl size, weight, carat weight of diamonds if known.
-more photos, including a close-up of the clasp since it is so detailed and beautiful. Include photos of any original packing.
-the original retail price for the necklace. This helps people understand the value.
-If you have comparable on sites like 1stDibs, RealReal, Poshmark, etc---include a link to them.

Good luck!

@Elizabeth35 Thank you for your advice. I just wanted to gauge interest before I invest time to do all the above. I do not have a payment method set up but will definitely figure this out if there's interest.
Pearl size was not in the description when I purchased it which makes sense since it is not significant. I can definitely measure the length and look up approximate carat weight. I do have all the packaging that came with it.
I can definitely add more pictures if there's interest in this as a designer piece.
I have not been able to find comps of the exact same piece online but I know the lowest I would be willing to accept.

You are definitely allowed to mention price here: it’s the preloved section and there are very few people who would agree to buy something without knowing the price...

I would also post more pictures and details of your specific necklace. Pictures from a website don’t speak to the condition of the particular piece someone would be committing to buy.

It looks similar to this piece but this doesn’t have the pavé clasp and I think you said yours was long? There might be other comparables out there to help?

The picture of the white pearl necklace is not from a website. It is the actual necklace.

Yes, I was thinking of something in that price range but I am not comfortable discussing in public. The best would be a listing on ebay, loupetroop etc.

Thank you so much! I could not find this one when I searched.
Mine makes about three layers of this necklace and has diamonds on both sided of the logo. The one on 1stdibs has a plain logo.
I think the chain and pearls are the same. The clasp is also the same.

I agree with you. I will figure something out.
Would it be acceptable to use @denverappraiser to help us? I can tell him my expected price and he can facilitate the transaction. I don't know how much his fees are but I'm sure he will let us know.

Just be aware that the one I linked is new and returnable via 1stDibs. Buying second hand and presumably non-returnable is obviously different.

Sure but I don't know how we would contact him? Would he make a listing?

He will probably see this thread and let us know his fees to facilitate the transaction.
I don't think he will create a listing. He is an appraiser so he will provide you with an appraisal if you want one and he will facilitate the transaction/ payment. I believe the way this works is that I send it to him and you send your payment to him. He ships it to you and sends me the payment.

I've worn it a few times only but I realize it is not new. It is also significantly longer and has diamonds on the logo. Thanks again for posting the link, it gives others an idea about the chain, pearls and clasp.

@Marriedbuteloped I will definitely create a listing with pictures for you so you can see the details of the necklace. It will not be today but it is on my list of things to do. Thank you for your interest.

Trade members aren’t permitted to advertise in PS threads or solicit business on PS threads. So your expectation would demand that he break PS trade rules. These policies are public:

Expecting Neil to see this thread, have any interest in mediating your transaction (without any meaningful information about the piece or any clear photos, no less), and offer his time and fee schedule on this thread in response to your summons - is just so appallingly ludicrous and presumptuous of you... I don’t really know where to start.

The appropriate way to request his assistance is exactly the same way that you’d request any other professional’s assistance:
1. Look his business up. It’s linked in his signature in all of his posts.
2. Contact him through the venues listed on his website.
3. Outline your request, state your availability for more discussion, and plan to engage further once he responds with his interest and availability.

Playing coy with details about a piece in a preloved thread is akin to cutting one’s nose off to spite one’s face. This isn’t eBay - PSers look out for other PSers, both sellers and buyers. I recommend deciding when you’re willing to invest the time and effort necessary to provide potential buyers with sufficient information to decide if your piece is of interest - and only then creating a thread for it. Take a look at three or four other PS threads, and the sample the admins have stickied (linked below), to see what is and is not expected/reasonable/permissible.

Thank you for your comments but please do me a favor and do not respond or comment on any of my threads in the future. I do not appreciate your approach and the way you have spoken to other members in the past.
We will figure it out without your help. PS has moderators who will let me know if there's any rule that I'm breaking or unaware of and I also asked others to let me know if I'm breaking any rule.
I told the interested person that I plan on creating a listing as you can see above. She can then ask questions and request more info. We will figure out how to complete the transaction if she chooses to proceed but it is too early at this time. If Denver appraiser does not respond because it is against the rules, I'm sure we will figure out how to contact him and find out more. I just haven't got to doing this yet. I'm busy and I realize that it is taking me a while. The interested person seems very understanding. If you're bothered by this thread, just don't look at it :)

Agreed. Responding to you has usually been wholly unproductive in the past - no need to keep trying. I’m putting you on my ignore list, and you should add me to yours. I am reporting your appraiser solicitation so the mods are aware of it. Best of luck on PS.

Great! We agree on something. Thank you!

Noting that this thread has been restored at the request of the OP, but remains closed until such a time that a for sale listing is placed in accordance with our policies.
