I am considering having a ring made with my asscher aqua or asscher peridot, since they are step cuts do you think brilliant cut (possibly pear) would look ok in a Moi et Toi or should I stick with another step cut stone?

Personally, I'd set right-angled stones with other right-angled stones, and curved stones with other curved stones.

FWIW, I'd also not mix very different right-angled stones in one ring, for example princess cut and asscher.

That's an aesthetic I prefer instead of mixing very different shapes or facet types.
I have no opinion about what you'd do.

Look at xothebijouxbox’s insta. I think step cuts and pear go well together.7ADC8F29-F4DF-4B7E-848B-0BB5FD2332D1.jpeg

Another PSer is having one made with a concave cut oblong Aquamarine with a round MRB or OEC, and they look good together once the right round stone has been found.

IMHO, it depends on the ring design and the combination of stones.

With an Asscher cut Aqua, I would probably pair it with an old cut like an OEC, in an open cuff ring design for the finger, and not a by-pass ring, if you know what I mean.

DK :))

Thank you, I saw that aqua project, so pretty.

I think it depends on your personal aesthetic and, to an extent, what you currently have in your collection / what you are missing in your collection.

What size is your aqua or peridot?

It’s worth taking a look at Jemma Wynne’s instagram if you haven’t already: they have a real mix of brilliant/brilliant, brilliant/step cut and step cut/step cut designs.

You can also sketch out a few pairings on a piece of paper to see what you like the most (or do it on the computer if you’re techy!) - I find this v helpful, especially against a trace of my own fingers so I know the scale / finger coverage and what sized stones to go for.

Thank you, I will look at her Insta, my gems are 7.5mm i believe.

I have one with a small MRB and a small step cut. I like the look, but of of course, it's all individual taste. DK's photo.
