I got my Mom's RB out of the vault this week and had fun taking pictures of "Mom & Joy".
The Tiffany RB is from the 60's and in the side view it might be possible to see where the wedding band cut a deep groove into the setting.
Some days I consider having the RB recut to today's "hearts & arrows", but then again it's fun to wear it, & see it, exactly the way it looked to my Mom when she wore it.
I thought some of you might be interested in seeing the two facet patterns side-by-side. The stones are approximately the same carat weight.

HI:

JA--you have the BEST stuff!!! Gorgeous and wonderful heirlooms!!

cheers--Sharon

I think they are both gorgeous as is!!!!

Cool comparison!

I love these! You should take great "joy" in having two beautiful yet completely different diamonds!

Both rings (and stones) are gorgeous Jimmianne! Thanks for sharing with us!

Those are both beautiful! I definitely wouldn't touch that Tiffany diamond! I love yours, too! That Stuller setting is so perfect for an OEC! Remind us of the size of those diamonds!

Both rings are just gorgeous! I agree with DS - I'd leave that Tiffany alone, but of course it is your decision entirely. I just think it's wonderful to have a beauty of a diamond that you know your mother admired as well. :wavey:

Jimmianne, both are beautiful!

Its so interesting to see the two difference cuts next to each other, and its wonderful that you have something as special as your Mother's ring.

Thanks for sharing with us. :))

Jimmianne they are both just stunning stones. I wouldn't recut Tiffany. It's Tiffany. :). Enjoy them both.

Thank you posting. I love seeing them side by side. They are both beautiful diamonds. I agree with LLJsmom, I also wouldn't recut your mom's stone.

Thanks for all the happy comments! It's always fun to share here because everyone appreciates diamonds in a way that people in the "real world" [or is that UNreal world?] never do...a tribe of artistic-eyed beauty-loving scientists. yes?
I don't actually wear my diamonds much, as Missy can attest to. But I enjoy looking at them and taking pictures, sort of a meditation.

[DS, they are around 2.4]

Wow, Jimmianne, I love your mom's Tiffany ring and you already know I think Joy is swoon worthy gorgeous.

These are 2 special rings and the photos you took of them together are lovely. My vote is not to recut the Tiffany ring from your mom. It looks amazing as is plus it is from Tiffany.

Haha yes I can attest to that Jimmianne and I am more than happy to accommodate you any way I can and wear your blingy babies for you keeping them warm and loved... :Up_to_something: :cheeky: :wavey:

Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

thanks! haha yes

They are both beautiful but I definitely would not recut the Tiffany diamond. Just enjoy them both in all their splendor and thanks for sharing again with us!!

Oh Jimmianne, they are both gorgeous!!! Agree with others not to touch the Tiffany, it's so special as is!

Both beautiful! You should find a way to wear your Mom's ring more often (I know not easy since you already have a gorgeous
ring)! Love that stuller setting!

Both are gorgeous!!!

These are both so so amazing!

Thanks Everyone.
Now if someone will just let me have their 2.4 H&A RB for comparison, I promise to take good care of it and take lots of photos! :naughty:

Definitely do not recut that diamond. Both rings are beautiful. Enjoy!

Gorgeous stones! I'm with others, don't recut your moms!

Love the Jimmianne eyecandy!!! Cool comparison and of course I have always loved the Stuller for Joy! :appl:

I love both of them and would not do anything to the T & Co stone.

Jimmianne, both diamonds are gorgeous. What a great comparison shot of a RB and an OEC. I would keep the Tiffany ring just the way it is; but that's just my humble opinion. Wearing either diamond will certainly bring a smile to your face. :wavey:

Your mom has great taste! Thanks for sharing and hope you wear both of them with much joy for years to come!

OK, no recutting. Thanks!

Love this side by side comparison! :appl:

Both gorgeous rings!! What type of band did your mom wear with the T&Co that caused that groove? Just wondering if at some point I'll have the same issue.
Enjoy them!

Me too. Both beautiful stones. I would not cut; as I am not a fan of heats and arrows.
