I figured I would page you to show you the flatware I picked out. I *think* it will go nicely with our china. What do you think?

oppps....I did not mean to repeat your name three times...oh well, at least you will see it this way!

Post a picture of the China too please!

Here Mata, this is for you! I am so excited for your new stone by the way!

Hopefully this picture is larger and shows off the detail. It is Vera Wang''s Grosgrain.

Hi Tacori, I love the flatware you chose! It really does complement the Grosgrain pattern--good job! I''ll see if I can dig up a picture of mine, it''s very similar!

Here it is!

oh, very nice! Too bad you only got 2 settings! If you ever wanted to get a cheaper pattern mine is from BBB.

I actually found that pic I posted on Amazon...and that pattern is on sale for $39.99! I think when we registered they were going for $49.99, and now it says the "regular price" is $65! I''m going to ask DH tonight if we can maybe pick up 4 place settings from Amazon (that would give us a total of 6 to go with out 6 place settings of china, for less than $200.) Hmm, we''ll see! Oh tax refund, where are you???

I do like your flatware, but I don''t think I can still return my two place settings and the hostess set. It''s been 3 years since we originally registered, and I think we had a 90 day return policy. Bummer!

Here''s the actual matching Vera Wang Grosgrain sterling silver place setting, in case anyone wants to see! I can only find it in sterling, and unfortunately it''s $550 per place setting!

oh I LOVE vera''s flatware

but it would NEVER happen. Maybe after I win the lottery. But even then I think I rather have diamonds than sterling.

You should stock up for SURE! How lucky you found it on sale. I am sure your DF can be convinced. I love that I probably would just buy it and not tell my FI

Sometimes it is better if he just doesn''t know and luckly he would never notice things like that!

Ha ha, I just showed my DH the Vera Wang flatware and told him the price--he said not in this lifetime! I asked him about getting the additional place settings soon and he said I can order them when he gets his next bonus (this month, yay!) Thanks Tacori--if you hadn''t mentioned that we both have the same china pattern we may never have gotten around to filling in our flatware! TG for enablers, lol!

I hope you get the majority or all of your place settings for your wedding/showers! I think we received 4 as gifts for the actual wedding, and then my mother gave us a place setting for my next birthday, and his mom did the same for our next Christmas...since then we haven''t been on the ball with those either! Hopefully this pattern will not be discontinued in the next 10 or 20 years, because I foresee it taking US that long to get a whole set of 12, and filling in the flatware, AND maybe some of the serving pieces. Maybe you and I can "loan" each other the missing pieces so we can actually have 10 dinner guests and still get diamonds!

Are you freaking kidding me! 550 dollars PER setting. Maybe i am out of the loop, but that is freaking ridiculous! Do people actually buy that? I guess they do, but damn...

Uh, yeah. It seems especially ridiculous when you consider that a place setting of china is on $129 in comparison! Maybe there''s an "upgraded" version of the china I haven''t seen! I''m with Tacori, though, I''d rather spend money on diamonds, hee hee!

What a great idea! They should have a rental place for china/flatware. Too bad you don''t live in Charlotte

I know I AM an enabler sometimes. I just can''t help it! That is awesome your DF is on board. I agree, I hope she doesn''t change her patterns for awhile. I will be curious to see how many we actually get. What glasses did you get?

No, it is CRAZY. They are sterling silver though but still $550. Whoah!

Oh I love ya''lls china pattern, so pretty!

Thanks Mata

I love it!

Tacori, unfortunately we didn''t register for crystal. I think we were a little restless by then and hubby was definitely ready to leave! We must''ve decided we''d get it someday after we got married (much like our missing place settings, lol!)

We got some very simple wine glasses and martini glasses at Crate & Barrel, and I have some sets of colored wine glasses I pull out for holidays, so that''s what we''ve been using.

What did you end up going with for glasses?

FI doesn''t drink at all and I only drink socially so we are only registering for the ice tea glasses (for ice water). I figured we can always get wine glasses later. I figured for $20 a piece there is a decent chance we will get all 12

Tacori, those glasses are lovely! We don''t drink that much either, but hubby wanted to have a full stock of glasses for guests who might want to imbibe during dinner parties. I remember when we registered not having any idea what a "rocks" glass was, let alone the proper wine glasses we should register for.

I say a set of white wine (the ones that are smaller) and a set of red wine (those that are more balloon shaped) will fill out your glass inventory just fine.

DH and I rely on water goblets from (gasp) Walmart, which I purchased about 7 years ago when I graduated college and lived on my own for the first time!
