So my original color scheme for my Sept garden wedding was lime green and chinese red. I wanted something pretty vibrant, while taking into account my irish heritage and his chinese heritage. I saw a bouquet that incorporates those colors without looking Christmas-y. But I really didn''t want to make my bridesmaids wear bright red or bright green.

What if I added in olive green? Making a color scheme of olive, lime, and red? Would that look OK? My mom thinks it''ll look like camoflauge. One bridesmaid is a fair redhead and the other is asian...so I think they''ll both look good in olive. Plus, it''s one of my favorite colors. Potentially, they could wear a lime sash with it, depending on the dress.

I tried to make a swatch, but I seem to be incompetent tonight.

Wow that is a tough scheme-I mean your combo isn''t a common pairing. So it is tough trying to come up with a third tier color. I can visualize your intentions..and think it will be really vibrant! Those floral bouquets with the lime and the red leave me drooling. You can taste the color!!

I think as long as you don''t shop at Army Surplus

...the olive green may work. What about trying to rename the green. Just tell your mom it is Wasabi Green. Or maybe Bamboo green? I bet she will embrace that!

Have you an image of a bouquet...that we can picture the Wasabi Green with a floral grouping? Depending on other floral inserts...a chocolate or a deep shade of maroon may be another option-or maybe bamboo golden yellow. What ever color it needs to be like a background color...and muted so the brights will pop. I think that is where you came up with your green shade? Remember stay out of army surplus!!

or maybe get just a little camo swatch and shake your mom!!!

ooooh i like the brown idea!

Well, I think you could do olive green and chinese red accented with more of a toned down lime green, maybe more of a celadon. I also don''t think you should go too dark with the olive green. This is a tricky color combination, but I think if you worked it out, it could be really beautiful.

I like herandersons suggestion...celadon or celery...just faint like mint. Heading to Davids Bridal to see what colors they have.

I like this celery color

I am having the same problem for my sep wedding as well. My favorite color is blue green and his is deep red. So far, we are looking at my having a lighter teal color and my FI having a very dark red. We are also looking to have a purple of some kind to help remove the holiday feel from the colors. I am wearing a green colored dress but will carry a boquet with pale roses and black magic roses, to tie in his red.
I am an Irish bride as well and I know foxgloves are a traditional Irish wedding flower, which is how we are getting purple in.
