Which should be the bigger percentage the table or the depth? Is a ratio of 1.02 still pretty square? Thanks

1.02 is very square. 1.05 is still considered square.
Iin general smaller tables are better. As tables get smaller depth gets bigger, so smaller table and bigger depth is more likely to yeild a nice stone, but aSET pictures of stones are the only thing we can help you with

Correction: As tables get smaller, depth gets bigger IF crown angle does not change and IF pavilion depth and girdle thickness does not change.

If that''s not possible, shoot for an AGS0 graded diamond. That will help ensure you get a decent stone.
