I was just reading on another thread about an ongoing hunt for a Morganite and it started my brain ticking over ..... never good on a Friday as it should be resting after a long hard week! Anyway, here''s my question. Which colour Morganite do you prefer? Do you like the pink or the peach tones?

I have both and I love the pink (especially with a hint of lilac) even though I''m not a pink type of girl! I''ve found with the peach colourway that I am actually Morganite coloured! Rather disconcertingly, it fades into my skin and loses any appeal it may have had! It''s a shame cos I love it but just can''t wear it.

Here are two of mine (the trillion is much much more peach coloured IRL and less brown than it appears here) and is 5ct. The pink heart is 4ct (from memory).

Just for fun ............... see I''m Morganite coloured!

I prefer the pink-toned morganite, but I know exactly what you mean, LD, about it fading into skintone. However, I like it because it''s a quieter, more subtle stone, and it almost wears as a neutral. Sometimes when I wear my vibrant gemstones, they can feel a little flashy, and I''m more careful to coordinate them with what I''m wearing. But with a morganite, I feel like I can wear it with anything. Having said that, I''m getting my own morganite soon, and I can''t wait!

not fair! I love them both!!!

I usually prefer the peachy ones... but that pinkie is ABFAB!

LD,
I have a 4 carat tourmaline the same exact color as that peach morganite, it was only $24. I would go with the pink since I would think that color is more valuable in morganite (especially if untreated).

I have a stronger preference for the pink morganite. The colour looks good; I don''t see the typical brown cast to it.

Definitely the pink...
