Mothers ring help

Hi I'm kind of new to this site again. I was on it when I was designing my engagement ring 6 years ago now My husband wants me to design a mothers ring. I want a 3 stone setting with aquamarine in the center and opals on each side. Anyone have any ideas or designs that would work for this ring? I'm thinking a cushion center stone and maybe oval sides. Any help would be great! Thanks!

I wonder if the center stone should be a cabochon cut rather than a faceted cut for the side opal consistency. I would then bezel each stone.

I know this isn't a 3-stone style, but opal can be very delicate in rings, and mothers are prone to doing a lot with their hands… have you thought at all of opal-inlaid sides instead of side stones? I've seen some pretty ones; here's an opal inlay and aquamarine ring on pinterest.

What kind of opals? There are black, jelly, crystal, white, etc. . .

Maybe a cabochon aqua in the middle of two opals? It would be very pretty, as I think a faceted stone might take away something from the opals.

This will be an occasional wear ring, right? What is your total budget? What is the time-frame for this? What type of opal are you considering?
