I am hunting for a mount to replace my stolen engagement ring. My ring was stolen last December and I've finally come to terms with not getting it back and have moved in to replacing it. I need some help, though! I've been hunting for months now and have been woefully undecided about a setting. I have a diamond - 5.5 mm transitional cut, F colour, VS1. My original looked like this:

I am hoping to stay under $400 for the mount and prefer white gold or platinum. It needs to have some milgrain or engraving for a vintage look. I love the delicate and airy look of this mount. My ring size is 5-5.5. I would like reasonable quality for daily wear and a narrow shank. Some vintage rings strike me as clunky or not refined and i won't choose one like that. I'm very open to pre-loved to stay within budget.
Thanks for your help! Let me know if anyone has anything for sale that fits the criteria!

Would you consider a three stone setting? With sapphire sides they have very classical vintage look to me

I would consider anything!

This may not be what you are looking for, but the original stone was 5.4 round diamond. It is 18K yellow gold band with platinum prongs, size 6. So, it is not antiquey, but a very nice Whiteflash designer setting. Sorry the pic is so small, so I attached link from website.
I specified platinum prongs so they are different from the standard.

I could swear I saw your exact original ring at baron jewelers yesterday, just saying. I saw your pic a couple of weeks ago and then when I saw that ring I immediately thought it was the same one. Anyway, sorry I didn't check the price but it included a center stone.

Crazy...where is that located? My ring was taken in Ontario. The mount is a little unusual for the time period as it has a knife edge shank and no fishtail prongs. My ring had the centre stone when it was stolen - I've just sourced another since then.

It’s in the Bay Area. I’ll take a photo of it if it’s still there when I return. It may have been a consignment piece.

IMG_5772.JPG I have this one lying around . It's a 3 stone. Platinum. With pink sidestones.

Thank you! I don't wear pink though :(

Hi, I have a white gold mounting for sale. It is a vintage look with the baguettes on the side, but added a few rounds too. The current head was for a .45-.50 stone so it might fit your stone, but not sure. Check it out and let me know. It has been newly polished and ready to go. Its a size is 5 1/2. The carat weight of the stones are .27. I'm looking for $300

Thanks so much! Baguettes are not to my taste but I appreciate the offer. Good luck selling it - it is lovely.

Hi

What I could offer you is the following: I have this Ritani setting for sale.
https://loupetroop.com/listings/settings/ritani-diamond-three-stone-semi-mount-for-6mm
It is currently set with 6 mm cz center and should hold 5.5 mm as per my goldsmith

With the side diamonds unfortunately it is above your budget (but bear in mind that those diamonds are stellar quality). However I could offer you this setting within your budget without the side stones. Than you can have them set with sapphires or even cz and decide whether you would want to have the diamond sides at a later point of time.

That way you would get great quality setting for very little. Or we could do a layaway if necessary
