After a long wait, I finally have a Mozambique paraiba tourmaline ring and I love it. The stone is a 5.52 carat cushion blue/green (kind of turquoise) copper bearing tourmaline from Mozambique. The color reminds me of the Carribean sea. It glows, but not as much as the much more expensive paraiba from Brazil. The setting design is mostly Leon's idea. I believe he is on a French cut 'kick'. The shank has tapered French cut diamonds, 6 on each side, channel set with milgrain edge. The stone is set with 8 claws coming from 8 pave prongs. One French cut diamond is incorporated into the pave gallery on each side.
