Music Question: Is this normal?

So, I love the band we hired for my wedding, but their music and sound are very, very different from the band that sings our chosen First Dance song. The thing is, I really really love how the orginal artist sings the song - in fact, I love it as much as the song itself.

Would it be horrible of me to play the recorded version of our song instead of having my band perform it? We''ll be set up to do that since our i-Pod will provide the intermission music. Or can I possibly ask the band to record them playing the song since they''ve offered to learn it anyway, and then make a decision? Has anyone else had this problem?

You can do whatever you want, IMO. I would play the recorded original of the first dance song, then have the band do their thing when it was over.

A LOT of people do this! Your first song is meaningful to you for many reasons and you should have exactly what you want, the way you want it, so don''t worry about it! Play the recorded version!
