Hi, gang. I'm very new to colored gemstones, but I find them really exciting and fun (and the semi-precious ones are soooo much cheaper than diamonds ). The first colored gemstone I purchased was a tacori East-West oval amethyst ring in silver(very beautiful, and at an excellent price point of $290). And i just pulled the trigger on my 2nd colored gemstone selection-- a cabochon cushion cut chalcedony (it faces up kinda like a three and a half carat) in a petite 14k yellow gold setting with 14 tiny diamond sidestones. It was 50% off for mother's day, so even if the color saturation isn't up to snuff for most colored gemstone purists, I think it's a lovely piece for only $280( and the person I'm giving it to has a smallish 5.5 ring finger, so the petite band shouldn't be overpowered).
