Yeah, this is my husband''s new Vette at the Corvette Museum, he picked it up there.
Ha, still like mine better (Silver)

So could you say this is my "red diamond"?

I''ve sorta put my diamond dreams on hold. Everytime I get in my car, I feel 10 years younger.
Can a diamond do that!!

Eventually, I figure out what I want in a ring and get it, but for now my
Silver Bullet is sweet!

Oh, Dh and I are soooo jealous!

Dh had a ''91(removable hard top) and ''99 (convertible) vette. Both in a blue. He traded the ''91 for a truck but then when they re-designed the vette, Dh had to get one.

I love the look of the front end of the vette.

Have fun with it!

Thanks!

Maybe we can get a picture of mine (06 Coupe) with his and I''ll try to get it on here.

Cool Ann, now you and your hubby have matching vettes (although you DO have the better color - love that silver with the red interior)! Have fun!!!

Thats a lot more exciting than my minivan LOL. But I don''t think I could fit 4 kids in the backseat! Esp since one of my kids plays the cello in orchestra. 4 kids and a cello take up LOTS of space.

Enjoy the new toy!

LOL Don''t you hate having to be practical?

Our car was dying and we still had all 3 kids at home, although the oldest rarely went anywhere with us, couldn''t be seen you know, lol. SO, I wanted something fast, sporty, that didn''t scream Hey, I''m a mom. Ended up getting the new Nissan Altima. It totally fits the bill, and has an unusually large back seat. A great compromise for a family car, although it wouldn''t help you, the kids and the cello, lol

Now I''m eyeing two seaters, but that''s still a few years off...

Been there, done that. I drove a Navigator (still have it!) when my kids were in band. Now the "Gator" comes in handy when we are moving to and from a dorm!

Ellen, the Altima ia a great looking car - good choice.

Ooooooh lala, que bonita!!! Have fun with your new upgrade, you can definitely take this one out for a spin.

Ann, thanks. I love it, even after 4 years!

And forgive me, I meant to put congrats on your upgrade at the end of my post, but apparently forgot!

Funny story, my BIL had an older Corvette, not sure what year. He decided to sell it, and was at a get together at our house one day. I had never ridden in it, and he hands me the keys and said take her out for a spin.

So I took it out on a road where you can get it up there, and I swear, I barely touched the pedal and took off like a bat out of hell. LOL Makes me laugh now thinking about it, I was shocked at how fast it was, and must be, as I nowhere near got it to the top. Fun cars! Enjoy.

The ultima is a nice car :)

One day I''ll have a fun sporty car again! I was at trader joes the other day and there was a really cute sports car and I was on one side and another minivan on the other. The other minivan driver was loading her bags into her trunk at the same time as me. She looks at the cute sports car and says to me "Don''t you hate driving the practical mom car??"

Funny thing is my car is brand new and from the moment I drove it off the lot I was not happy! It is a replacement of my old minivan. I did get the limited version, all wheel drive, leather, navigation system etc., moonroof etc. so its got all the bells and whisles. but its still a minivan!

HI:

Vroom vroom!

Congrats!

cheers--Sharon

Congratulations!!! Just think...your car encompasses your whole being and your diamond would only encompass your finger - giggle...but don''t foget - fingers a little digits and they get lonely too so keep working on your ring - giggle :} Enjoy your car :} Oh, and besides, a ring is easier to clean

Congratulations Ann! Is it Victory Red or Monterey Red? It''s hard to tell in the picture.

My husband surprised me last month with a trip to Kerbeck''s in Atlantic City and bought me an ''07 Monterey Red Convertible! He had the deal all worked out - just told me we were going to "compare colors" - I was so excited I thought he might have to smack me to calm me down!

I can''t believe the difference in the handling (and power!) from my ''03 Anniversary Convertible! This car is just awesome!

Enjoy your upgrade! How cool to have two Vettes in the family!

Gorgeous car Ann, how fun it must be to drive!!!

Thanks everyone - it''s a lot of fun. And right now I''m not obsessing about diamonds. I know I could have what I want, but I do feel a bit guilty spending that much cash in 1 year.

Ivnut - oh, how cool ! I know about Kerbecks from the Corvette Forum. A Vert, you lucky gal! Do you have the push button top? I love that idea. Removing my top is too heavy for me to do alone.

Hubby''s is Victory Red. His decision, the silver (Machine Silver) was my decision. His is a 6-speed, mine is an Auto.
I know the handling is too awesome and the power, well be careful! Just today we spent a hour or so resetting some of the settings. I am still learning all the cool little things it does. I''ve only had it to 99. But hopefully, someday I can find a lonely wide open road and let her rip!

Hi Ann - Yes it does have the power top - I love it! My past two convertibles had the manual top - it was pretty easy to get down - but I know handling the targa top on the coupe is tricky.

I''ve got most of my settings set, but still need to do all the XM settings and I am still learning the nav stuff as well. Guess I should watch the instructional nav dvd, huh?

The power is unbelieveable isn''t it? I''ve caught myself doing 85 on the beltway without even realizing it. This past weekend we were coming back from a friend''s in Philly and I fell asleep. My husband hit an open stretch and had it to 130! Didn''t tell me about it until last night...

Tell your husband congratulations on his gorgeous new car - you guys are lucky to be able to pick which color you "feel" like taking out!
