I joined pricescope something like 8 years ago when my now-husband and I started looking into engagement rings. We learned so much, and ultimately decided to go with BGD for the engagement ring. We settled on a 2.05 ct I SI1 BGD blue, in a gorgeous pave setting.
However, two kids later (the second just born in May), and I somehow lost both my engagement ring and eternity band (and also a 12 euro fake gold band from Crete that I was wearing as a wedding ring with my engagement ring, which has held up so well over the past two years, and is basically irreplaceable and is perhaps the greatest casualty of all). Luckily the rings were insured, and instead of replacing them exactly, I decided to put everything into the center stone.
Lesley was, again, wonderful to work with, and I couldn't be happier with my new ring!! Losing my rings was so, so upsetting, but the ease of the replacement process and the absolute beauty of my new ring helped a lot. It is a 2.9 ct BGD signature I VS2, in the classic half round setting (no modifications). I decided to go with a simple setting for now, and possibly do a halo later (after we are done having kids and they are older), but this setting looks so classic that I might just keep it forever! We will see!
Putting all the money into the center stone meant no fancy wedding ring, either, so I found a 1mm thick micropave eternity band on etsy (from Ferko's?) for under $300, and I love the way it looks with my new engagement ring!
