I joined pricescope something like 8 years ago when my now-husband and I started looking into engagement rings. We learned so much, and ultimately decided to go with BGD for the engagement ring. We settled on a 2.05 ct I SI1 BGD blue, in a gorgeous pave setting.

However, two kids later (the second just born in May), and I somehow lost both my engagement ring and eternity band (and also a 12 euro fake gold band from Crete that I was wearing as a wedding ring with my engagement ring, which has held up so well over the past two years, and is basically irreplaceable and is perhaps the greatest casualty of all). Luckily the rings were insured, and instead of replacing them exactly, I decided to put everything into the center stone.

Lesley was, again, wonderful to work with, and I couldn't be happier with my new ring!! Losing my rings was so, so upsetting, but the ease of the replacement process and the absolute beauty of my new ring helped a lot. It is a 2.9 ct BGD signature I VS2, in the classic half round setting (no modifications). I decided to go with a simple setting for now, and possibly do a halo later (after we are done having kids and they are older), but this setting looks so classic that I might just keep it forever! We will see!

Putting all the money into the center stone meant no fancy wedding ring, either, so I found a 1mm thick micropave eternity band on etsy (from Ferko's?) for under $300, and I love the way it looks with my new engagement ring!

Your ring is gorgeous!!! The center stone is stunning and big. And I love the set.

Beautiful indeed! So glad this sad situation had a happy ending!!

wow, it's gorgeous!!!!

I'm so sorry you lost your rings. It must have been so upsetting. I love your new rings though, they are gorgeous and look lovely on you!

Oh my gracious....

What a find. That diamond is GORGEOUS!! And I love the simplicity of your setting too... it really lets the diamond be the showstopper. The teeny little micropave band was the perfect choice too. Just enough to say "yep, I'm married", but also stays in the background to let your e-ring be the star.

I'm sorry you went through the loss, but glad you came through it with a glorious ending!!!

Oooh, lovely - a nice ending to a difficult situation!

You made the perfect choice!

ITS GINORMOUS!!! congratulations! Easy for me to say but I forgot about your losing your original ering because this replacement is mind blowing.:shock::shock: :love::love: Enjoy!!!

What a stunner!!! You have lovely, slender fingers and this diamond looks amazingly huge on you!!!:love::love: Wow!

What a huge & beautiful look! And the band is the jackpot, because it looks like they were made to be together, adding a teeny bit of interest without stepping on toes. Love it!

So sorry about your original set, but I’m so happy you found such a STUNNER!!!
More photos, please!?!?

Thank you! And that was basically my exact rationale for the band. Though I wouldn't say no to a french cut/round CVB eternity band in the future!

Big and beautiful!!! Im sorry you had to replace your original set. So happy you found a gorgeous new set that brings happiness to you and puts a smile on your face.:))

I've been drooling over your ring as I was waiting for mine, since it seemed like we had chosen similar diamonds!!:love::love:

They couldn't be more similar. They'd make for some KILLER earrings, LOL!

HI:

Really gorgeous! You have beautiful hands!!

cheers--Sharon

Stunning, you were smart to maximize the size, there's always time to re-set if needed. I also LOVE your ring with the very delicate band!

Beautiful ring! Less is more! I like the simple solitaire where you can stack with different bands over time. Great choice.

Beautiful ring! IMO, nothing can beat a simple solitaire.

With 50/50 custody? If we ever upgrade again (which is, for me, highly unlikely lol), we will have to discuss !

Since this post I have now started “shopping” for upgraded EC’s, just in case something might happen to my set. :Up_to_something: lol!!
Putting all that money into the stone was such a great idea!! I agree that you can always reset and add bands, later!!! Maximizing the size of your diamond for your money was the best thing ever!!! :mrgreen2:

I'm pretty sure I will be served divorce papers if I try to upgrade again haha

So beautiful! I'm so sorry you lost your other rings.

OP I am sorry about the loss of your original rings, but your new replacement is just beyond stunning and it looks amazing on you!!!:love::love: I love the delicate pave band that you have added as well. It is truly gorgeous! BGD are so awesome to work with and I am happy that they were able to find you such a beautiful replacement!

Hubba Hubba Zing Zing baby that's got everything!

My wedding set was stolen a while back (it's on here somewhere) and I had a hard time with the replacement. I was SO MAD and wanted "exactly" what I had. Some days I didn't want anything. Now that it's all said and done like 8 years later, I hardly ever wear these, not bec they're not the original, but because I am TERRIFIED of something happening to them.

That plus I can't use my hands fully if I have stuff on.

A few more photos for fun! One with the poop monster party responsible for the missing ring/upgrade situation.

It really is gorgeous - did you tell us the specs of the diamond?
