I had to share my newest purchase. It’s a long story I won’t share, but I finally got my long dreamed of yellow diamond. When I got engaged we didn’t even have money to buy a diamond and we finally were able to purchase this for me in honor of our 10th anniversary coming up in several months. No I couldn’t wait until then to wear it!
I did a lot of searching online and locally for a stone and in the end the person I had the most trust in was David from Diamonds by Lauren. Not only that, but he also had the best selection and awesome customer service. Not one local jeweler was able to get back to me on any stone remotely like this. Not even one who is now claiming to specialize in colored diamonds. Online stores didn’t fair much better and I do appreciate seeing actual pictures and movies of stones I am interested in. When it comes to stones I definitely need to see them with my eyes before purchasing. Particularly when dealing with color and cuts of radiants.
David was quick to reply and quick to find me a stone. I highly recommend him for any purchase. He made everything about this easy for me and I appreciated chatting with him in e-mail and on phone.
It is a GIA certified .93 radiant cut stone
Y-Z color SI1 clarity
6.34 x 5.15
finger size is almost 4 ¼ but made this one 4 ¾ to make sure it fits well with my wider anniversary band.
It’s set in a “temporary” two tone 14K gold setting. It’s a great setting that shows the diamond beautifully, but we need to decide what I want for a forever setting and do that after a kitchen upgrade LOL. I am pretty sure we are doing a 3 stone ring with high whites, but we’ll take the time to get to know this stone and decide what we like best.
I do have a very critical eye when it comes to jewelry. I have looked this stone over with both my loupe and my naked eye. While I can see the inclusion with my loupe, I am really not able to see it with my naked eye. I say it that way becaus if I tilt the ring at an angle in a very low lighting condition I *think* I might be seeing a little of it. I''m not positive though. I have SI1s and SI2s that I can see the inclusions after knowing where to look, but this is not one of those stones. This ring is beautiful in all lighting conditions and all angles.
I hope you enjoy because I am in love! I wish I could do outdoor shots, but my camera battery died. Pity too because it is so sunny and beautiful out here today and the stone sparkles amazingly out there! Best I got were indoor shots not in direct sunlight before the camera died.
First is a "glamor shot"
