As always, the folks on here have been super helpful regarding all of my jewelry purchases!
I started lusting after a 5 stone ring after being on this forum and seeing sooooo many gorgeous examples.
I decided I wanted a 5 stone as my wedding band. I wanted something substantial enough that I could wear it alone when I didn't want to wear my e-ring.

Found this one on ebay and decided to go for it.
The clarity wasn't as described, but the color was pretty good, so I decided to keep it and get a little bit of cash knocked off.
I didn't like the setting, so I tried to shop around to see if anyone could make a new wedding band for a decent price.
Found a great jeweler who gave me a very fair price for the 18k gold setting after she agreed to take in the gold on my original setting (9 grams of 18k gold).

For some reason, the original setting made the diamonds *seem* to sparkle more, but I think it's because I had a skyscraper of a setting on my finger. Seriously though, that old setting was crazy high!

So, here's the original photos of the ring in the setting:

With my e-ring (I won't be wearing them like this, but perhaps with another cute little band....I could get away with it!) :mrgreen2::mrgreen2::mrgreen2:

Why not wear them, together? It has great presence alone, and paired...
It looks beautiful!
I’m curious: would you ever consider changing the setting to a u-prong band, sometime?

Beautiful @tfc_diamondlvr ! So glad that in the end you found your 5 stone! The new setting looks lovely and low set for comfort! Enjoy your new bling!

Beautiful ring and conversion! :appl:

Great find! It turned out super well. Congrats! Gotta love good bling on a budget

Congrats! Great find and new setting!

Good score on the band and wow that has a huge presence on your hand!

Thanks for your comments! Maybe I just might wear them together :) Why not?
I might consider changing to a u prong band in the future, but honestly, the diamonds aren't nice enough to spend the extra cash to get them switched out for a u prong setting.
The only reason I chose that setting is I went to Tiffany's and tried on their wedding bands. They had a five stone band, and that's what I told the jeweler to try and mimic. They didn't really get the proportions correct at all, but I only paid $400 cdn (after they took the gold from my old setting) so I'll take the differences :D

This was the Tiffany 5 stone ring I showed my jeweler.

Yay! Thanks @SimoneDi ! You know my battles :D I appreciate your comments and support (as always!)

Beautiful ring and conversion! :appl:

Thanks so much! I'm just happy the ring doesn't look like something out of the 80s now :D

Great find! It turned out super well. Congrats! Gotta love good bling on a budget

Good bling on a budget is what I'm all about these days! I think my eye has now turned to getting either a pair of flower cluster earrings OR diamond studs. It never ends! :lol-2::lol-2:

Congrats! Great find and new setting!

Thanks! It isn't the best quality diamonds you can purchase, but at this point, they are real diamonds and a few jewelers have said that the color is half decent (g), so that makes up for the clarity. Who knows about the cut, but I'm sure it isn't the greatest. However, if I wanted a half decent cut I'd be looking at around $4k cdn for I1. The diamond ring sparkles quite enough that layman who aren't diamond connoisseurs and also jewelry sale associates have made some very positive comments, so it can't be too bad :mrgreen2:

Good score on the band and wow that has a huge presence on your hand!

Thanks for your comment! Yes, it's a good size ring for my finger. I've got enough bling coverage that it certainly has an impact!

I just wonder if it's me or does the lower setting not 'shine' the diamond as much as the higher one. When I wore the diamonds in the original setting for a few days I had people at stores stop me and ask if the diamonds were real they looked so sparkly :lol-2: I can only imagine what they'd do if they saw some of the beauties on this forum! Their heads would start to roll. :twirl::twirl:
