As always, the folks on here have been super helpful regarding all of my jewelry purchases!
I started lusting after a 5 stone ring after being on this forum and seeing sooooo many gorgeous examples.
I decided I wanted a 5 stone as my wedding band. I wanted something substantial enough that I could wear it alone when I didn't want to wear my e-ring.
Found this one on ebay and decided to go for it.
The clarity wasn't as described, but the color was pretty good, so I decided to keep it and get a little bit of cash knocked off.
I didn't like the setting, so I tried to shop around to see if anyone could make a new wedding band for a decent price.
Found a great jeweler who gave me a very fair price for the 18k gold setting after she agreed to take in the gold on my original setting (9 grams of 18k gold).
For some reason, the original setting made the diamonds *seem* to sparkle more, but I think it's because I had a skyscraper of a setting on my finger. Seriously though, that old setting was crazy high!
So, here's the original photos of the ring in the setting:
And with the new setting:
With my e-ring (I won't be wearing them like this, but perhaps with another cute little band....I could get away with it!)
