Orange spessartite
Red tourmaline
Green tourmaline
Yellow tourmaline
dark blue topaz
greenish blue apatite

Thats a fun game, 3/6 haha, the spessartite you posted twice in the case it looked hazier like a fire opal .

That is a yummy collection! You'll fit right in here. :wavey: What are their sizes? Do you have plans for setting any? I wish that yellow tourm were mine!

The time limit is too short; I want to play too but it's already over. Bummer... :(sad Any further info on the gems? They look quite large.

Spes 8.57 ct
Green tour 4.1ct
Red tour 4.99ct
Apatite 7.2ct
Topaz 11ct
Yellow tour 1.7ct

Now dun have much spare money for setting. U know sometimes the setting can cost more than the stone itself:) haha besides as long as I get enough money for setting, I always can't help myself buying another stone

topaz is always IF u know that
And the red tour has a very nice color although it has some small inclusion
The apatite has size 7.2 ct and it's really shining and has a very shinny greenish blue color which makes it so close to "paraiba". Depesite its softness, I think I love this stone the best
And for the Spes it has a "huge" size 8.57ct in its kind. But it's a pity to find many visible inclusions. Pls forgive my English, it just looks as if there exists some fruit pulp in the orange juice. Anyway I still decide to keep it just because it looks so similar to the fanta juice and I always prefer color to clarity~

They are very pretty however, I'd think twice about putting my gems in carbonated drinks......or any drink for that matter. :o

I love your spess. That is the closest I've seen to my Holy Grail spess in I don't know how long. I would seriously be interested in one like that, if your source has more... :cheeky:

I will ask whether he got more or not. haha but no guarantee lol. same color of same size? if its of this size, it should be quite difficult to find.

Hi eos, I'll give you more info here! Which part of Sinagpore are you staying at now? For more beads I usually visit 福禄寿 (Fu Lu Shou) opposite Bugis OG where most stores have a wide ranges of beads of all qualities to choose from. You will be able to compare prices and bargain for better deals. For faceted stones, I recommend sun sun jewellery, you will be able to find her address from her website http://www.sunsun.com.sg

She does offer loose gemstones like the star sapphire i posted in the previous thread. It was purchased off her tray when it arrived from her main source in Thai (family business) and she didn't have any setting ideas of it at tt time. The shop owner is a GIA certified gemologist therefore she will disclose any treatment of stones if you enquire, that I differentiate her from the rest of the jewellery shops in Far East. I'll nv purchase any stones from Far East untrained. Pls note the opening hours and lunch hours before making a trip down cos she closes early and has long lunch breaks. Her place is a good learning ground. =) I used to visit every possible weekend just to look at new arrivals to get used to the market price before I head down to gem fairs in MBS which I visited in July and Oct. Wow, the no of booths there, you won't know where to start from.

To sidetrack, for setting I'll visit Far East. There's a few setters in that building.

Good luck in your gem hunt!

Do give her a call 1st, cos if I remember correctly she doesn't operate on Sunday. Have a walk in her store, there's quite a bit of jewellery but for loose stones she will have to check or look ard for you in Thailand esp if you are looking for smth so specific. There's always a shortage of gemstones in SG, that's why I'm always looking online. Cya ard in July!

Very colorful gems, Eos. I really linked the Fanta and Mirinda bath. Hope it did not have any long lasting effect.

Sorry to get a bit off the topic, but I wanted to further leverage your knowledge of Singapore jewellery craftperson. I also live there, for a few years now and sometimes struggle to find good addresses. I wear two white gold rings which I regularly need to have rhodium plated, because my skin/sweat must be quite acid. I was referred by a jeweller to a place in Lucky Plaza (in the top floors also selling loose gems) where they did it quickly and for cheap, but in my opinion a bit too "quick and dirty". I need to do it again soon and also to have some alpa earring back fitting cleaned and repaired - the springs seem to suffer heavily from the average heat and humidity here. Last time I wear those earrings, I had to use the adjustable wrench to remove it - quite painful experience. Would you know any places where I could get good quality long-lasting repairs done - I do not mind paying a bit more - preferably CBD or East. Thanks a lot for your advices.
