Hello!
I would like to show you my daughter's pendant that she picked today from her jeweler. I bought all 3 major stones, one is 0.14ct Brazilian alexandrite from GemsNY and 2 bigger are Nasarawa teal aquamarines from Jeff Hapeman of Earth's Treasury, 063ct and 0.29ct. They are the birthstones representing the members of her small family. I also donated some unwanted made in the USSR jewelry for her to sell as well as a necklace with small diamonds in order to trade them for diamond melee she wanted to use for the project. On March 2nd my daughter visited her jeweler's shop inside one of the malls in San Jose, showed her sketch and stones, agreed on the price, and paid for the entire project with cash. On March 13th our county was shut for quarantine. Good thing was her keeping the stones at home. As soon as malls reopened my daughter contacted the jeweler and was thrilled to receive a CAD for review and approval. She loved everything, only asked to make edges round. The thing is made of solid 14K yellow gold. My daughter bought a box chain today but we both agreed on it not being a 100% good match. Anyway, the chain came home too and is waiting for our next project, aqua/emerald pendant. My SIL loved the new pendant a lot and allowed my daughter to use his 18K YG chain that is also not a perfect match. So for now the pendant will be used with SIL's chain since it is more secure for heavy pendant. Please share your opinion on how these 2 chains look, which one is better and whether my daughter should buy a different one or not. She is not very picky but we both want the pendant and the chain to be at least in harmony if they can't be a perfect match. Thank you very much!
And since they are related, I would love to show you another pendant with the same untreated Nasarawa teal aqua. This creation was made by Jeff Hapeman's team and I didn't see the stone till the pendant had arrived. The main stone is 0.95ct square and the other 2 are tiny round Russian demantoid and Montana sapphire, both heated. 14K rose gold. The person who designed the pendant was also the one who sourced the chain so they are a perfect match in my opinion. Unlike my daughter, I don't draw sketches so I let Jeff's team do what they thought would look great (I only gave a vague verbal description). This was a surprise BD present to my jewelry loving girl.
