My wonderful boyfriend, now fiance, just proposed to me with the ring that I designed!!

I am a graphic designer by profession, so when I thought a proposal was near, I rendered a design of my dream ring and gave it to him. My boyfriend secretly had it crafted over the course of the following months!! What do you think?! (Pics attached)

It turned out beautiful! I love how the side stones are set in the bezel. He did a great job in bringing your drawing to life!

I''m not really a marquise person, but that is gorgeous. Love the design!

Congratulations!

If you don''t mind me asking, what size are your pear sidestones? I''ve been looking to purchase some .30 pears for a ring or earrings and I would like an idea of relative size.

Beautiful ring!! You did a great job designing and platinumsmith did a great job creating your ring. Congratulations!

beautiful, beautiful. It is so great to see dreams come true...I love the carvings on the band.

Congratulations for the ring ! from one self-designed-jewelry-wearer to another

The ring seems amazingly close to the drawing... bar a bit of the finish, this must have required a bit of negotiation wiht the maker, no ? If you have a minute to spear from the joy of the moment

, would you mind sharing how did the process work out for you ?

I think it turned out beautiful! Congratulations on the ring and the engagement! Everytime I say to myself that I'm not really a bezel fan, someone posts a really nice picture and has me swaying the other direction.

LOVE THE DETAILING ALSO.

Yes, the finished engraving, etc, is a bit different from the initial drawing - we decided to give artistic license to the metalsmith when it came to the specific decorative style of the carvings. I knew I certainly wasn''t an expert on it, so it felt right to trust it to a professional. I knew I wanted a "wheat" pattern (I was really digging Tacori) and wanted milgrain on every available edge, but left the rest up to the artist''s judgement. I also provided some pictures of engraved bands I admired (Tacori, Beaudry come to mind...)

No real roadblocks throughout the process. My fiance tells me that he requested revisions to the first wax mold, because the bezels were sitting on top of the band, instead of level with it. But that was it. (I was cut out of the process early, so as to maintain SOME element of suprise when he gave it to me...)

Thanks again for the warm welcome!
