My Estate Ruby-Diamond Ring

I picked out a beautiful vintage 18K ruby-diamond RHR as "part of" my anniversary gift. It arrived today and looks so much more beautiful than I had anticipated! I will talk more about the ring details with the following pictures. Here it is on my hand.

It is a 3.8 ct ruby set in 42 princess and rb (white white diamonds!), 18K gallery setting.

I was worried about the color of the ruby (purchased unseen, but returnable), but it turns out to be a much brighter, even, and more saturated red compared to all my other ruby rings do date. I am very happy with it!

Thanks! The ruby looks very translucent and firey in certain lights but more sleepy on some other lights. It is like a kid with many personality! It is a very memorizing stone to look at!

Yes the 6 prongs are solid and pretty tall. I wore it all day and did not feel uncomfortable though. I particularly like how the light goes in from underneath the ruby which makes it glow "twinky twinky red" when I am driving. I think I am in love - I will keep it in the current setting!
