My firt post! I have been lurking around for only a short period of time, but in that short time, I''ve learned so much from every one. There is still much left to learn, but in the meantime I wanted to share pictures of my ring to you all, although it may not really compare to any of your gorgeous rings.
When I first got engaged, I had a .59ct Princess Cut D SI1 set in a 5-stone setting with 4 RB of undetermined color and ct wt. the RB stones were part of a ring that belonged to my grandmother that my mother gave to me. Here in the Philippines, a .59ct stone is already considered as pretty big to us common folk.
Only celebrities and those from elite families (aka the filthy rich) are expected to have 1ct and above.
With this recent upgrade, the center stone was changed to a 1.04ct Princess Cut I SI2 (ok, to some it may sound more like a downgrade, but we got it at a pretty good deal). The setting was also changed a bit, adding 6 tiny RB in a channel setting on each side of the band (6 on each side).
The stones are uncertified (for now), and the setting was made by a local jeweller. I do plan to get it certified, though... I just need to figure out how and where.
Anyway, here is a picture of my ring, taken by my crappy phone camera. It absolutely does not do any justice to the beauty and fire of the princess.
