My first wedding-related nightmare

I had my first bridal nightmare last night. I dreamt that I went to pick up my dress at the store on the day of the wedding. I get to the store and they couldn’t find it, and acted really snippy about it. The store was a wreck because they were rushing around preparing all of the dresses to be shipped to NY for a fashion show. They tried to convince me that I could wear this other wedding dress if I paid $200 more because this dress was more expensive than the one I purchased. Well, I couldn’t believe they would charge me extra to wear a dress that (though it looked very nice on me) was not the dress I picked out… especially when they couldn’t find my dress. Then, I realized that this dress they were pushing on me had red accents and I went all bridezilla on their tushies about red accents clashing with the color scheme and how could they have lost my dress, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. After much flipping out, my mom arrived to the store to pick up her dress. They were easily able to find her dress; she put it on, and looked great. As I was ooo'ing and ahh'ing over how great she looked, it hit me that I had forgotten to get my dress altered so it was going to be WAY too big for me. That’s when I woke up.

It was a frustratingly bad dream when I was dreaming it, but it’s funny as all get-out now that I’m awake.

Has anyone else had silly wedding-related nightmares?

yep! My first one was a couple of weeks ago. I don''t remember all the details, but the basic plot was that NOTHING was planned fully for my wedding and the ceremony was supposed to start within hours. Even once I became lucid and realized I must be dreaming, it was super stressful. I was so happy when the alarm woke me up!

I had a dream that it was the day of the wedding but I hadn''t ordered any flowers so I went to Target to have some bouquets made really quickly. They had a great selection but were taking forever to put them together. Then my dad said I needed to just have my wedding in Target in one of the aisles. I then realized I didn''t really have a choice since I forgot to book a venue AND forgot to get a dress. I freaked out!

My wedding is in two weeks. I''ve had so many nightmares over the past month and I had one just a few hours ago. I completely missed my hair and makeup appointments in the morning and I had no time to do it myself because it was almost time for the ceremony (like I would just FORGET I had stuff to do that morning). My MOH and BM were just laughing at me and telling me they would do my hair, but when I asked how they were going to do it, they said they were just going to part it in the middle and leave it down. Then I get to the chapel and put on some makeup myself but no matter how much I put on, it looked like I had no makeup on. So basically I had to walk down the aisle looking like I rolled out of bed.

2 nights ago I dreamed that we had our wedding a week earlier by accident, and my dress was this horrible BLUE SEQUINED NIGHTMARE, and I was writing on it with a GLUE GUN, in different colors, and then we couldn''t find the rabbi, so I went looking for him, and ended up in Hogwarts waylaid by McGonagoll, who ended up being of the Sapphic persuasion, and wanted to...err...waylay me! (ew)

Yeah. Very odd.

I''ve been engaged for over a year, so I''ve had a ton of them! The recurrent theme is that my makeup and hair aren''t done and nobody wants to help me. My family is either watching TV, chopping wood (!), or not there at all... That sort of thing.

Man, I am so glad I''m not the only one! About two or three weeks after we got engaged, I had this dream where it was our wedding, and reception was outside (which ours it not). I was so busy running around and doing stuff, when I walked outside, I had missed the whole reception! I went out, and they were cleaning up and breaking down tables, and it was completely dark outside! I was yelling, "wait, wait!" Ugh, it was an awful dream lol!

You gals are cracking me up!!! I''m totally laughing out loud because these are SO FUNNY! But then I realized, OH NO that''s going to be me!!!!

I haven''t posted in the List yet, but I''m 9/28/08 in NY. Will head over there soon to post my date! And I know the first thought that I''ll have when I wake up from a wedding nightmare (haven''t had one yet!) will be, "wait till the girls on Pricescope hear!"

I had a dream that for some reason we moved our indoor church ceremony outside, and of course it started POURING! We were all running for cover, and FI and I ran into different parts of the building and then couldn''t find each other to have the ceremony. I''ve also had dreams where I forgot to make the hair appointment and had to do my own hair and hated it! I totally wake up still feeling stressed and anxious...I hope it''s not going to be 8 more months of this!

Ohh, I had my first one last night. It''s making me reconsider my plan to do my own flowers.

I was in my dress. The guests were in the sanctuary. I realized that nobody had any flowers. We''d completely forgotten to make them the day before as planned. So I ran to the refrigerator, where I discovered they had all frozen. I thought, eh, they''ll thaw, and threw together a bridesmaid bouquet. As I held the bouquet in front of me to check its size and shape, all the heads of the flowers wilted. And then I woke up.
