Well, the gown is perfect! The sample was a size 10, diamond white, petite and I ordered a size 8, regular length, in pure white so I was a wreck for these past months thinking I messed up! Not so :) So, I only have a very few pics as the store was very busy and I didn''t have the nerve to ask for many takes. I took the one of myself with the flash in the face.

Here''s the first. The flash took some of the yellow-y lighting which was a good thing but it''s not a very nicely composed pic.

Here, the yellow/soft lighting is back again. Not sure why as I think the salesperson used the flash but the whole place was this color. (yuk)

And here''s how the bustle will be done. The organza tier is laying over a 3-point over-bustle. I am not in love with it, to be honest, but I really don''t have a huge preference for any type either. All I know is I didn''t want the french kind. It actually felt refreshing to just say "sure. Looks great!" and let it go at that. lol

Look like the dress was made just for you

! I envy your figure and your gown tastes.

Thank you!!! I am just so happy to have this gown!

Does everyone else who takes these fitting pics feel the pics don''t do the dress justice? I hope so because I can still feel how i felt in it and I know it looked really great! But these pics seem kinda blah to me compared to the reality. I also realize in retrospect that it''s time to get crackin'' on my push ups in the morning

Let me just say, I love your hair!

Oh, and the gown too, but we''ve already had that discussion.

It looks great on you!

LOL! My plan is to wear a large, sparkly necklace to detract from my not so slender upper arms

. I agree with you about the pictures. Unfortunately dress shops seem to have unusual lighting that messes with the reality of color. When I was dress shopping, there was a girl trying on your Maggie So gown (or maybe getting a fitting done?) so I got to see it IRL, on a person

Stunning and sparkly!

You look beautiful in that dress!

Wow, it''s gorgeous and looks fantastic on you!!

wow-it looks AMAZING on you!!!

You look wonderful!!!

And as for the arms -- I would kill for your arms! But I hear ya about the push-ups...

It''s beautiful!!!

I''m a Maggie Bride too, a Grace Kelly with cap sleeves - so I hear your concerns re. the arm thing, but really, you look gorgeous as is-

Yay! You look great in your dress!

If you''re thinking pushups to get at that spot kind of between your armpits and your boobs, you might want to try just loosening how tight you have the corset tied at the top and making it tighter lower so it stays up. Tying it too tight at the top can make anyone look like they need to do some push ups (though I don''t think it looks like you need to!)

Thank you, Labbielove, Fatafelice, Bee, Kcoursoulle, Surfgirl, Loveinbloom, and Ladyciel for your sweet words!!!! You all are the first people to see me in my gown (besides the salespeople) as I didn''t bring a bm or friend so your comments and compliments really mean ALOT!!!!

Robbie, Your''e RIGHT!!!! Omg I just realized this as I read your post!! I WAS having a hard time taking a deep breath
9.gif
so it really was quite tight. And I was reevaluating the pics last night and I did notice that part of the flub IS partly my actual....uh...boob! That''s gotta be some tight laces to make the girls do THAT!
9.gif
I will definitley do as you suggest but still do my push ups :) I''ve ordered some sticky boobs so hopefully they''ll give me some definition up top w/o having to lace my dress like that on the wedding day. Thank you, Robbie!~!~~~

Off topic slightly: Anyone have experience with pushups and how often per week and how many reps will do the job within 94 days? I am walking 3 x''s/week presently so that is helping in general w/overal toning and fat loss but my arms really always need extra lovin'' care. Any words of experience would be greatly appreciated!!

Is that Pia from Maggie Sottero??
Very pretty.

No problem!

Perhaps I''m just weird, but regular pushups never really seem to do anything for my arms as in biceps or triceps. They do help a lot with the shoulders and pecs. If you want to work your triceps, I suggest reverse pushups. In case you aren''t sure what that is, I mean the kind where your hands are behind you (say on a step or couch or something) and you raise and lower yourself like that.

I never really work my biceps because they''re naturally kind of bigger and sort of defined and working them makes them bigger (which I don''t like). I would imagine curls would work well for this though.

Thanks, Robbie, for the suggestion. I have never thought of doing reverse push ups. I bet you''re right (again!) that those would target that area even more :)

You''re right about pushups. The are designed primarily for the back/shoulders. The "backward" exercise you mentioned is called tricept dips, and if you do them correctly, wow, they can make you sore, but they work well (if you do them incorrectly though, you can tear yourself up, so be careful if you try it!).

And You''re right too, bicep curls will target your biceps.

You look so pretty! The dress looks lovely on you! The date''s getting closer, are you excited??!!

It''s so perfectly lovely and perfect on you! YIPPEE!

P.S. So, Happy, You look Beautiful! (And for the record, I don''t see a THING wrong with your arms)

Very pretty dress!

Beautiful!! So glad everything worked out... it really is nerve-wracking when you make changes and you''re not 100% sure how they''ll turn out... but everything looks great!!

While I''m no personal trainer, I am a total gym rat and love pushups for what they can do. I do 50 three or four times a week with my regular workout, and they have given me the best definition ever. They should be working your triceps, chest, shoulders and back. If you can''t keep good form with a ''real'' pushup, try doing a modified one on your knees first, but you should be able to build up to real ones quickly if you keep at it.

You hands should be at the outer edges of shoulder width apart and directly beneath your underarms. A good way to measure is to lay on the floor on your tummy and put your hands into the right position, just at the sides of your underarms, and then push up from there. Keep your back straight and in a long line with your neck and legs, without dipping down at the lower back. Then, push down and up, with the down part being your chest is close to the floor but not touching. Rest in the up position if you have to. Good luck!

You look amazing! And I love that dress but you knew that already. It looks perfect on you.

It looks lovely on you!!!!

It REALLY looks fabulous on you!!
