I just couldn''t resist sharing this picture of my Jack Russell terrier in her favorite lounging spot on the bed. You guys have posted some terrific dog pics! Anyone else have one of these wild things???

These dogs have it better than most people!

He''s adorable! The only thing that would make the picture better is to incorporate your gorgeous three-stone ring somehow!!

I always love looking at that, too.

OMG I am dying to have a Jack Russell! They are my absolute favorite inspite of what everyone says about them being so hyper!!!! your dog is precious!

My girlfriend has a Jack and he is adorable but SUCH a handful, oh my god. He comes to visit and we are so happy when he leaves. We had him for ONE NIGHT recently and it was more than enough. After he left, EVERYONE including Portia napped for hours afterwards! They are hyper personified...he was up at 6am and thundering around the house. Also they need alot of discipline meaning a strong hand and firm personality, my girlfriend lets him do whatever he wants and so he is wild with her and totally doesn''t listen....but with us he is actually very good!! He has a great ''personality'' though..and is alot of fun and Portia ADORES him. We love when he comes to visit but we are happy when he goes home too.

I would never get a Jack personally, it would wear me out, but they are VERY cute. The only downer is that so many people adore their cute look and end up getting them and then can''t deal with them and their strong personalities and hyper-activity and end up giving them away to rescue or something. So like with any dog, if you are going to get a particular breed, do enough research AND spend time with that breed beforehand so you really know what it''s like!

What a doll! Funniest thing I ever saw when my dogs were in puppy obedience was a Jack Russell owner being trained by the puppy. Every time the pup was given a command, he would stand in front of his "owner" and the look on the pup''s face clearly said: You talkin'' to me, you talkin'' to me? Sit? YOU sit, I ain''t gonna sit. Take this leash and shove it.

I guess everybody knows, the higher dog marks on the tree or the wall the bigger his virtual persona is for the next users of that Net.
So JR in the Day Care with 20 dogs, 18 of them bigger than him, got creative and peed from the top of the sofa. The rest of them were genuinely confused.

That is too funny!! Growing up we had a dog that was part JR so was only "part" hyper. Thankfully we had an acre and a half of yard so she could tire out!

Sundial, that is just adorable!!

Thanks guys! We think she is a cutie. Her name is Haley. They can be a handful, but we have a big fenced yard and she has a dog door so she can let herself out to chase the birds and things. Mara you are right that a lot of people get these dogs who really don''t know how to handle them. They can be so much fun in the right home!

haha Leonid, my friend''s Jack marks the funniest places...I took him over to her friend''s house to drop him off for some babysitting and he peed on her cactus that she had by the front door. Nice job Elliott!

Sundial, I agree the right home is key....my girlfriend just got a new house and she has a big yard..well big for CA anyway so hopefully he can get some exercise out, previously she had an apartment where she couldn''t let him out in the yard when she wasn''t home...so maybe he will be a bit more calm now with somewhere to put his excess energy!!

Oh and he EATS his toys. I mean tears the stuffing out and devours it and the toy entirely. It''s hilarious..and somewhat disturbing!

That yard''s fence should be 2m height and 1m deep in to the ground, they are jumpers and diggers

yep Elliott is definitely a jumper! not SO much a digger as he is a toy-eater! he''s also all muscle and hard to hold onto..wily thing!
