I got this ring from James Meyer a couple weeks ago. Love it!
Mr. Meyer picked out the purple/pink tourmaline at the Tucson show this year. It is somewhat included, but has lots of life!

The tourmaline weighs 10.7cts, and measures 12.7 x 15.4mm.
It is not overly deep which helps to keep the whole ring closer to the finger, and not so bulky.

Now the pics!
(Please excuse the dirt on the ring. I cleaned a few days ago but the camera still picked up so much dust/lint :(( )

Very nice workmanship on that piece. He does incredible bezels and all those nice touches.

I thought he stopped doing settings?!

I loooove his work, and that ring is no exception! Amazing.

Gorgeous! I love the color of that stone and his work is exquisite.

I love James Meyer's work, and especially his leaf motif settings. Lovely!

What a marvelously beautiful ring Cookie ! :cheeky:  :cheeky:

I sooo love the color and the setting
Beautiful piece. Truly exquisite. Congrats! ::)

Beautiful! Love the in car photos. My bf never believes me that the car is the best place to get pictures.

It is beautiful! The setting is gorgeous and the entire look goes really well.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that! What a gorgeous piece! I was wondering what happened with your project since the last thread!!

Ah, I think he's not doing custom colored stone pieces anymore (I think just the diamond pieces) but now I'm almost tempted to ask after seeing this GORGEOUS GORGEOUS ring.

Wow.

Very nice. His work is so excellent, I wish he were still at it!

Very nice, a gorgeous ring! Wear it in good health,

Thank you everyone! 8)

I love it so much that I want to set my Richard Homer rose quartz (18mm round) in a similar way, but in a pendant.
Mr. Meyer won't use customer's stone, so I need to find another jeweler who masters this kind of design.

Which jewelers would you recommend? Thank you!

I'm so jealous...I've always wanted a James Meyer, and that's a gorgeous design.

I'd recommend Julia Kay Taylor (juliakaytaylor.com or juliakaytaylor.etsy.com) for similarly thoughtful and quality bezel work. She has a very organic feel as well. Of course she won't replicate one of his rings out of respect for another designer, but she'll probably be able to work something you like.

What about Ann McKay?

Shiney -- the Ann McKay ring you posted looks gorgeous. I will ask her for a quote.
jstarfireb -- thank you for the recommendation! I will check with Julia too.

Maybe check out Caleb Meyer too, but I think Ann's work is a little closer to Jim's.

If I remember correctly, Caleb Meyer doesn't accept customer's stone.
I like Ann McKay's work and contacted her. She is going to send me some drawings with pricing tomorrow.
Looking forward to it! ::)

I keep coming back to look at your ring :)
Ah yes, I think I did hear something about that! Shame. I do wish Jim would still take customer's stones too, I'd love another (but non-diamond) piece by him.
Oh that sounds great! I can't wait to see what you end up going with!

Beautiful craftsmanship!!! My heart beats faster every time I see a James Meyer.

The totally open gallery is drool inspiring! JM does the most wonderful organic bezel work and it’s such a shame he’s taking time off for his other personal pursuits.

Wonderful ring. :appl:

Ditto. You are happy and lucky to get an example of Mr. Meyer's artwork.

this is absolutely stunning! So the only way to get one of his pieces at this point is to watch his site right? I think he puts up recent creations for sale as he makes them? I have always really admired his work.

For custom coloured stone rings, yes - he does do custom diamond rings (he sources the stones) still, though!

Yes, he puts new pieces on his site. He also has his own inventory of loose diamonds and loose colored stones.
If you have something specific in mind, the best way would be email or call him. Maybe he has some stones that meet your requirement. 8)
