Hello All,
Well I have been reading all the post. I really do not know if this stone is real or not anymore. At first I thought it was, then I thought it was not, now I just do not know. I know it is larger and I know what has been said about all the large stones but here goes with the story behind this stone. This stone was brought back to the states after WW1 and cut and mounted here in the US. It is set in 14k which means little. It has all the color changes in the different light, and is quite beautiful. The stone has inclusions under a 10, 15 & 20 loop. I have studied them and studied them to still be questionable. I have not taken the stone in as yet, but think I will. I was hoping for a few ideas about it being real. The inclusions in it appear to be scattered through out the stone and they look kind of like ugg for a better word. Some of them actually have darker spots in them as if it had bug matter in it like amber. There may be a line or two like what I read up the page aways but nothing significant. The inclusions appear more to me like globs of stuff. No air bubbles that I can see. Why would there be a couple of dark spots (for a better word, kind of like a bug) in the uggy stuff?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Judy

I''m not too knowledgeable in identifying the realness of gems but posted to say welcome

and I hope the experts will chime in. I''m curious to learn more.

Thank you very much! Trying to figure out how to add a pic of the stone.
Nice to meet you online.

We also need to know what the color change is (red to purple, green to violet, etc. . . ). Most true alex should start off as some type of green or variation of green in most flourescent light, and then change to red, purple, violet, or some variation in the red/purple color family. I don't consider the crysoberyl (the mineral that alex belongs to) that goes from brown to yellow true alex, but color change crysoberyl. I'm not a G.G., but many agree on this. It's debatable.

If you need to know if it's real you need to take it to an appraiser.
