A few years ago, I bought this stone loose from @evergreen, with the intention of recutting it. It's a 3 carat spinel that's about 10x8. It has a few eye visible crystal inclusions, and a bit of a window.

I never got around to a recut because it turned this sort of glowy pastel blue in under tree sun, and I was scared of losing that effect. So I set it in a basic 6-prong sterling ring.

Well, I recently got a lab diamond to wear as my weekday ring, and asked DanielM (danielmjewelry on etsy) to copy a 8-prong mixed metal setting of his I'd seen on his insta. The setting is a 14k yg head on an argentum silver band, with decorative 14k beads. I unfortunately wasn't able to find a local jeweler to set the lab diamond for me, so considered- hey, why don't I put my spinel in it?

Granted, I cut out the seat and did the polishing myself, so it is still a work in progress with some dings and imperfect prong symmetry. However, if looks much better than a zoom in of the pics may lead one to believe. Plus- the spinel's color just looks amazing in its new home.

Pretty stone.

Fairly common for lavender and some violet Spinel's to shift blue under natural sunlight.

Your's is very nice.

Oh this is a reaaaally pretty stone! :kiss2: The colour is very gentle and when you combine that with how sparkly it is and how transparent it looks, it's a killer combo.

Beautiful stone. Thank you for starting a thread on this.

Oh yay, how ABSOLUTELY delightful!!!!! I certainly remember that stone and I'm beyond thrilled that you're enjoying it - looks fantastic in that setting, too! :D

Thanks for your kind words everyone. I am always so self-conscious to make a solo post, and appreciate others see the beauty I do in it.
