Hi guys, I hope you don''t mind me posting this, but I had to tell someone who would understand - oh and sorry in advance for the length of it
About 3 yrs ago my DH and I went thru a really rough time thanks to a close family member doing everything in their power to screw things up for us. This individual is now facing the consequences of his actions (when he stops lying to the authorities that he is to ill to attend the hearing), but because of what he did, we had to sell my jewellry so we at least had money for food and bills
.
Since then, we have been able to replace some of the things I sold - although not with exactly the same. You can see a couple of my rings in SMTR, and I got a replacement watch.
However, out of all the jewellry that had to go the one that caused me the greatest upset was a 18ct WG ring set with a pear shaped sapphire surrounded by diamonds. It wasn''t the best quality in terms of numbers - my three stone E VVS1 1ctw beat it hands down in that department - but it was the one ring that sang to me. It was a beautifully coloured sapphire - a rich vibrant blue that sparkled like crazy. The diamonds were 10 x 10 pointers, but two of them had a couple of cloudy areas on them - but even so there was fire and scintillation like nothing I have seen before or since. My DH bought me a sapphire and diamond oval cluster to replace it - but it just wasn''t the same.
We visited the jeweller we sold them to, but he had sold most of the pieces on. I gave up hope of ever seeing my pear again.
Anyway, we decided to go shopping out of town today - mainly to cheer me up because I found out on Friday that my father has had his hearing postponed YET AGAIN because he is still claiming he is ill
. I always look in second hand jewellry stores wherever we go, and today was no exception - even though on Thursday we ordered a five stone anniversary band from my jeweller, ready in two weeks
.
I looked in the window of one that I particularly love because of the fab collection of sapphire and diamonds they have (they are my absolute fave) and.....
My ring was in the window
. I couldn''t believe it!!! We went in and asked to see it - my heart was pounding so much. She got it out of the window and seemed to take an age bringing it over. She was talking about how beautiful the sapphire was and that they had not had this in stock very long - all I could think was stop talking and give me the ring!!
I knew as sson as I held it that it was mine - it felt right even tho it has been three years since I saw it. I put it on my finger immediately - of course it fitted and I have HUGE hUGE fingers - and refused to take it off! My darling, darling DH knew that there was not a single hope of getting me out of there without it and bought it
So here I sit at my computer, looking at the sparkles from my beautiful beautiful pear, and I can''t believe it!!
thank you for reading, and apols for the long long post
oh, btw I''m still getting my five stone band!!
