I mostly lurk but I’m so excited about my new bling I just had to share!
I
’ve had the bug for CC gems since I bought a CC spinel years ago. I’m still not sure if it’s real but it’s pretty awesome.
About a year ago I got a nice bonus and found a CC garnet from Wild Fish Gems calling out to me. I spent hours on their website looking at it. I spent hours on the internet looking at other CC gems but that Beliky garnet kept speaking to me. Finally, I pulled the trigger and ordered it.
It’s a 1.46 carat cushion and it’s a greenish blue in my office fluorescent lighting, purple at home under the incandescent lights and sometimes bright blue in certain lighting. It has the most remarkable flashes of blue, purple and gorgeous , to-die-for red.
Then the search for a setting began. It’s kind of an odd shaped cushion so it was tricky and I didn’t want to mess up. I finally found a dazzling micro pave halo with 217 of the tiniest yet sparkliest F colored diamonds I’ve ever seen. (I’m not a halo person but when the jeweler set the stone in the halo I was sold. The jeweler did some custom work (or magic) on the basket and went old school and split the prongs for me.
When I first saw it I was a little shocked and wasn’t sure I liked it. Now that I’ve worn it around a day, it’s grown on me and I’m in love. (The same thing happened with my man – when I first met him I wasn’t sure what to think but by the end of the date I knew I was in deep)
Aaron (aforementioned BF) has suggested that if I don’t like the garnet in the halo, I can pull it out and set a OEC diamond and re-set the garnet in something else. (my jewelry projects just never end but everyone needs a hobby – why oh why can’t I get into WOW?)
I’m not a great photographer but here are some pics I took.
(I don't know why my posts show up as "trade" as I'm not a professional)
