OK - so I've been looking for a pear for a mounting I have (STILL searching for the pear) Along the way, I've picked up a few other stones :o
This is a 3.19 carat spinel. I bought it off DB. It was originally purchased from Litnon. Sri Lanka blue/purple color shift. 8.4 x 8 x 6 .
So on with the pictures :appl:

Thanks Enerchi! Yes, that pear is really out to get me. I'm almost ready to give up. But at least I'm finding lots of other fun along the way =)

The right stone will find you...it's like dating- kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince, sort of thing

Tell us about this gorgeous setting! Where is it from?

Very pretty! Looking for pears pays off, seems like!

The stone I purchased from marymm on DB (thank you!!) and the mounting was an estate mounting that just happened to work with the size and shape of the stone.
Yes - this pear is definitely giving me trouble! And I'm sure many on PS are sick of it by now :errrr: So thank you ALL for your help and advice. Plus I'm having fun with these "side" projects.

You know, I'm starting to feel that the search for stones is a zen thing. You just have to go with it and accept that sometimes fate aligns the stars and you find the stone and the setting just come along with no effort. And sometimes you really need to practice patience, and wait and wait and wait...

How cool that you have it mounted already! I noticed that stone too and am happy that it worked so well for you. A really pretty ring. Does it have those glorious spinel flashes of color?

At home (where we have mostly CFLs) its not as lively but still blue and pretty. But outside or in any of the stores I've been in so far - its SO much fun to look at! I've seen blue; purple and a sort of teal-y blue. LOVE it!

Hey jbk - is this stone from Barry, too similar to your spinel ring? Its a nice pear - thought I'd post it for you, just in case:

Wow Enerchi! That pear is pretty!! Its too small for me unfortunately ;( I need in the 11x7 range (give or take) Thank you for thinking of me though - I need all the help I can get!

He did have a few larger pears. Check him out! There were a few near that range as I recall...
